The January 6th lawbreaker President, day 17

Notes of day 17 of the presidency of the power-crazed, January 6th lawbreaker, 47th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump.

Rob,

In case it weren’t ABUNDANTLY clear, we’re living under a co-presidency - run by wrecking balls, not reformers. Driven by fury, greed, and a thirst for chaos.

This isn’t new in history. Every deranged leader has that inner circle of flattery specialists, hanger-on courtiers, and, inevitably, a “king whisperer”—someone at their elbow, feeding the mania and steering the ship into the rocks. In Trump’s case, the whisperer is Elon Musk, who is arguably as mad as his orange-hued sovereign. Trump’s festering grudges and Musk’s dark mania are as terrifying a threat as our democracy has ever faced.

Elon Musk tried to break into a SCIF this weekend. US Marshals were called. It’s a little thing called a felony.

A SCIF is called a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility. It's where you go when you have actual government work to do, like talking to sensitive assets in the field.

And Elon just decided to show up at one and attempt to bully his way in merely because he could. Does he have business with USAID? I think not. Does he remotely give a sh*t about anything other than rolling around in his trucks that can't go through car washes without voiding their warranties? I think not. Is this basically 10,000 ketamine-addled Snowdens all at once? Yeah. Yeah, it is.

His business with USAID is a wrecking ball. His business with the federal government is a wrecking ball. His business with America is a wrecking ball.

And it's only the second scariest thing he did this weekend.

Any other day, any other democracy, it would be the scariest. But not in Trumpworld. This was merely an amuse bouche from hell for the main course this weekend.

Trump also turned over all Treasury Department payment access to Elon. Like, the United States Treasury. In charge of ALL the money. He didn't need to break into this one, because Trump opened the safe, turned over the combination, and walked away. Who knows where the trillions are going to go?

Elon now has access to the personal data of every American who’s paid into or received Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, or even COVID relief funds. And health data. This is extremely ironic given the MAGA crowd’s screeching “HIPAA VIOLATION” to basically everything.

And of course, Trump fired all the inspectors who can actually, uh, tell America what the hell is going on.

We're most of the way through this screed and I haven't mentioned the trade wars Trump started this week. Or the fact that he's jacking prices on some of the MAGA chuds' favorite injectables like Ozempic and ED meds.

And if you're trying to buy insulin, well, get ready for a big sticker shock.

I'd tell you all that money is going straight to Trump, Elon, and the crypto-bros, but honestly, I have no idea. No one does. They've blinded any oversight attempts and the media is too busy being distracted by Trump jangling his keys with his other hand to notice what's going on.

What they are doing is even worse than what we worried about. We may never know the extent of how bad it is.

We all need to wake the hell up. The remaining elected Democrats need to get moving and get moving fast. MAGA had a plan this time, folks, and they’re executing it.

This is the fight. This is what we’re facing every day until 2026 and eventually 2028. We’re the tip of the spear and we haven’t stopped being the tip of the spear. Thank you for keeping this pirate ship afloat.

Response to Alabama Democrat who accepted my Facebook friend request
To: ____________
Thank you for accepting my friend request.
I was a Republican who voted for Trump in 2016. I think I am a steadfast Independent now.
In my Trump resistance I am emphasizing pushing messaging beyond Facebook posts and comments.
I am doing a lot of emailing to Alabama parties with standing and position that I lack in order to try to get them to speak and act against Trump. I am trying to persuade others to email similarly to increase effectiveness of Trump resistance in Alabama.
If you think you and I can join together on anything, please let me know.
Sincerely,
Rob Shattuck

Emails re "Katie Britt, Joyce Vance, Alexis Loeb, Byron Donalds and DOJ/FBI weaponization"
I received the below email message in reaction to "Email to Alabama State Bar Bench & Bar Relations Committee re Katie Britt, Joyce Vance, Alexis Loeb, Byron Donalds and DOJ/FBI weaponization" that is posted at The Final Battle against Donald J. Trump: The January 6th lawbreaker President, day 13

Mr Shattuck.
I trust you are well. We have never met. 😊
I understand you received my email address from the Alabama State Bar.. I am needing to keep my judicial email as clear as possible so  I can attend to urgent judicial matters that alert me when I am in trial or in chambers working.. I am covering both the District Court and Circuit court for the time being and need to prioritize my email accordingly therefore,  at your earliest convenience,  please delete me from this email thread .. I thank you in advance.

I will respect your request, _____.
Without identifying you, I have posted your email message to me on The Final Battle against Donald J. Trump: The January 6th lawbreaker President, day 17, and I will post this reply of mine there as well.
My reason for doing the foregoing is to take the opportunity to register how lamentable (if not deplorable) I think has been the silence of Alabama lawyers for more than a year about the issue of weaponization of the Department of Justice and lawfare, and their not being willing to speak publicly to help Alabamians have a more informed basis for their own views on the issue.
Sincerely,
Rob Shattuck

I saw this post today on Facebook
Come turn out if you can! Hoping to have media there and need numbers! Bring your signs protesting the unconstitutional hostile takeover of our government! Your personal data has been illegally breeched by the multibillionaire and his minions. Let Senator Britt know we expect her to fight back to protect our privacy and our government's sensitive data systems.

I put a comment on the above post

What can Alabama lawyers, in Birmingham and elsewhere, do to amplify the public messaging of the below protest happening at the Robert S. Vance Federal Building in Birmingham on Friday?

Email similar to above email to Alabama lawyers sent to 51 members of Alabama State Bar Bench & Bar Relations Committee.
