Subject: How fearful of Trump is the Alabama business community?
To Alabama chambers of commerce and others:
The news story Trump demands 'highly conflicted' Intel CEO resign over China ties prompts me to ask you about how fearful the Alabama business community is of Trump.
As I have previously tried to say to you, my opinion is that Trump's overriding motivation at this juncture in his life is to be, and show to the world that he is, the most powerful and consequential President (for good or bad) in the history of the United States.
For that, I believe Trump is hellbent on mowing down any and all checks and restraints that impede his gaining ever more power in his relentless quest to be the most powerful and consequential United States President ever.
Trump has been incredibly successful towards that end during the past nine months.
A chief tool Trump wields is that of instilling fear in anyone who opposes him or speaks against him.
Such fear is infectious and builds on itself, in that, as some parties succumb to Trump out of fear, other parties are more likely to succumb and do succumb to Trump, and that further grows the fear of Trump.
The fear includes fear of being shunned by other parties with whom one has business (or other) relationships, because one perceives the other parties as being fearful of being associated with someone who speaks against Trump, and for that reason one chooses not to speak against Trump.
Please tell me how pervasive you think fear of Trump is in the Alabama business community as to result in the foregoing phenomenon of people in the community being unwilling to speak up against Trump. (I appreciate that your answering this inquiry is a lose/lose proposition that, if you say people are not fearful, that may encourage people not to be fearful and to speak up, and, if you say people are fearful, that may cause people to decide not to be ruled by fear and to speak up against Trump.)
Thank you.

Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: Continuation of appeal for organized, targeted emailing

From Facebook
The weather has cooled down so please join us downtown tomorrow, Wednesday, August 6, at noon to hold Senator Britt accountable for her vote on the "Big Ugly Billionaire Bill" and her support of the cruelty it inflicts on the people.
We want to protect rural hospitals, not build detention centers!
We want due process, not secret police!
We want health care and nutrition supplementation, not mitarization!

Dear United Democratic Volunteers of Alabama:
Your website says UDVAL "is a grassroots network empowering volunteers to support Democratic initiatives across the state. Founded in 2021 as UDCAL (United Democratic Clubs of Alabama) and then changed to UDVAL in late 2024, we leverage our network of volunteers to fill in the gaps of other Democratic organizations instead of reinventing the wheel. We are not a political action committee (PAC) nor a non-profit or for-profit organization. We have no funds, no bank account, no mailing address, and no paid staff. We are all volunteers helping other volunteers." About — UDVAL
I am an Independent. In my political activities, I too have no funds, no bank account and no paid staff.
As an Independent I am trying to promote organized, targeted emailing to grow Alabama public opinion against Trump, most recently in connection with the Aug. 2nd Rage Against The Regime events. Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: Rage Against The Regime challenge.
I would like to discuss with you whether organized, targeted emailing by your volunteers could be developed to advance your organizational objectives.
Please call me (205-967-5586) if you see potential here.
Thank you.

I am in Gary Palmer's district.
Will Gary Palmer have a town hall while he is back in Birmingham this month, at which his constituents can boo him for his defending Trump policies as happened this week to Rep. Mike Flood in Nebraska? Mike Flood booed by Nebraska constituents after defending Trump
I doubt Gary Palmer will have a town hall this month.
Please join me in indirect booing of Gary Palmer by means of strategically targeted emailing. Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: Targeting Gary Palmer.

From FacebookSuzanne Baker

Thank you to the group that turned out today to continue to hold Katie Britt accountable for her support of the Big Ugly Billionaire Bill. We got lots of thumbs up, honks and some thank you's from passers by. It's amazing how many folks don't even know that Senator Britt has an office at the Vance building that she rarely, if ever, visits.
For the near future, we will keep showing up every Wednesday from noon - 1pm. Please consider joining us next week! Corner of 1800 5th Ave N, Vance Federal Building. We're serious but fun!

Suzanne Baker is posting on Facebook that, "This week is special as we will be joined by other Indivisible groups in Alabama who will be protesting at Senator Britt's office in their cities."
I am all for protests of Katie Britt outside her offices in Alabama.
As to protesting Katie Britt by means of Facebook posts, I think Facebook posting has limited reach to similarly minded persons, and, as such, Facebook posting does not reach persons who are undecided or otherwise open to persuasion. and does not show fight to the other side.
I have been advocating for organized, targeted emailing to protest Katie Britt, as a way that can overcome the limitations of Facebook posting for protesting Katie Britt. Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: Targeting Katie Britt.
If this makes any sense to your group, I would love to discuss the same with your group. My telephone number is 205-967-5586.
Thanks.

Yesterday's gun violence in New York City prompts me to urge Alabama Trump resistance groups to add guns and the need for stricter gun laws as a subject of targeted emailing in connection with the Aug. 2nd Rage Against The Regime events.
For what it's worth, emailing I have done about this subject is posted at Be An Alabama Rootstriker* with Rob Shattuck: Local authorities for stricter gun laws.
Please contact me if your group is interested in such emailing and if I can be of assistance.
Thank you.

In 2023 and 2024 I did emailing about Tim Alberta's book "The Kingdom, the Power and the Glory" as set out at Be An Alabama Rootstriker* with Rob Shattuck: Alabama evangelicals and "The Kingdom, the Power and the Glory"
Targeted emailing in connection with the Aug. 2nd Rage Against The Regime events directed towards Alabama churches is another suggestion for your group to consider.
