Subject: Trump "national emergency" tariffs blocked; will Dale Strong rush back to DC to get legislation?
Dear Huntsville area TV stations:
The article Most Trump tariffs are not legal, US appeals court rules | Reuters says:
Trump justified both sets of tariffs - as well as more recent levies - under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act. IEEPA gives the president the power to address "unusual and extraordinary" threats during national emergencies.
"The statute bestows significant authority on the President to undertake a number of actions in response to a declared national emergency, but none of these actions explicitly include the power to impose tariffs, duties, or the like, or the power to tax," the court said.
"It seems unlikely that Congress intended, in enacting IEEPA, to depart from its past practice and grant the President unlimited authority to impose tariffs."
Will or will not Dale Strong rush back to Washington DC to get Congress to enact legislation that affirms Trump's declaration that there is a national emergency and that gives Trump the legal authority he needs to impose the tariffs in question?
Will or will not your TV stations pose the foregoing question to Dale Strong and get an answer from him that you can report to your viewers?
Thank you.

Dear Walter,
I am prompted by your article today (Democrats tout individual donors' role in District 5 race fundraising efforts) to send this email to you to express that I believe the 2026 midterm elections will ultimately be a national referendum on Donald Trump and that Congressional candidates, including in Alabama, should campaign on the issue of whether Donald Trump should be impeached by the next Congress or not.

Suggestion for targeted emailing to Alabama TV stations re Barry Moore
I have sent many emails to Alabama TV stations pleading for them to better perform their journalistic obligations to their viewers.
I particularly tried this in connection with the 2024 election. Be An Alabama Rootstriker* with Rob Shattuck: Getting AL TV stations to do better in 2024 elections.
The TV stations and their staff have been entirely unresponsive to me, with a couple of exceptions noted in the foregoing link.
Taking my above email "Barry Moore disses his voters; does he diss AL TV reporters?" as a starter, consider picking a TV reporter at an Alabama TV station serving your geographical area and sending them an email expressing yourself in your own way in order to try to get them to perform their journalistic obligations better regarding the subject of Barry Moore.

Subject: Shoals Chamber and Phillip W. Williams Jr., new U.S. Attorney for ND of Alabama
Dear Shoals Chamber of Commerce President Burns:
I am a busybody, retired Alabama lawyer.
I am trying to avail of Donald Trump's installing Phillip W. Williams Jr. as the new U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama as a basis for instigating debate in Alabama at this point in the 2026 elections about Trump corruption, the rule of law, and weaponization of the Department of Justice by Trump. See Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: Phillip W. Williams Jr., new U.S. Attorney for ND of Alabama.
The Alabama business community has, or should have, an interest in the extent to which Trump is corrupting the American economy by Trump's using the Presidency to profit himself and his family, by Trump's business dealings with foreign entities and having the Federal government acquire stakes in business corporations, and by Trump's awarding Federal contracts to parties as Trump chooses.
Such corruption of the American economy by Trump goes on by Trump turning the United States Department of Justice into Trump's private law firm.
Whether Trump's corruption will or will not be stopped by the courts is playing out. Donald Trump slams courts after Kennedy Center ruling, vows to fight 'rigged' system.
The complicity of the Republicans in Congress in Trump's corruption is a huge factor, and the 2026 elections will be the ultimate opportunity for voters to be a check on Trump's corruption in our government of "checks and balances." (May such "check" be manifested by the voters in the Alabama 4th Congressional district voting against Robert Aderholt in November.)
You may wonder why I have chosen the Shoals Chamber of Commerce to whom to send this email.
I have previously done emailing to Alabama chambers of commerce to try to raise concerns about Trump. See particularly the August 8, 2025, email I sent to Alabama chambers of commerce that is posted at Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: How fearful of Trump is the Alabama business community?.
I have gotten no response to this previous emailing to Alabama chambers of commerce, and such has contributed to my picking the Shoals Chamber of Commerce for this email. (Lucky you, hunh?!)
Thank you for any attention you give to this email.
Sincerely,
Rob Shattuck

Subject: 1819 News hosting Republican primary runoff debate
Dear Ms. Thomas:
Between now and next Tuesday, I will push for the following questions to be asked of the candidates at the June 8th Republican primary debate that 1819 News is hosting per 1819 News hosting Republican primary runoff debate:
1. Should Alabama voters, in deciding whether to vote for you for the governmental leadership position and office you are seeking, consider relevant your views about anything concerning Donald Trump? What, if anything, do you wish to say to Alabama voters about Donald Trump?
2. What is your opinion of Donald Trump's honesty (or dishonesty) and truthfulness (or untruthfulness), compared to the honesty (or dishonesty) and truthfulness (or untruthfulness) of other politicians? How you think your opinion about Trump's honesty (or dishonesty) and truthfulness (or untruthfulness) will affect the opinion of Alabama voters about your own honesty and truthfulness.
3. Do you think Donald Trump foments anger, hate and division in the country? If so, do you approve of Donald Trump doing that? If you do not approve, will you say publicly you do not approve, and, if you are elected to the office you are seeking, will you do anything to try to reduce the anger, hate and division that Donald Trump foments.
4. Do you think Donald Trump has wrongfully weaponized the Department of Justice against his political opponents and against others who disagree with Trump? Do you see any risk of the Alabama Governor, Lt. Governor or Attorney General doing similarly with district attorneys and other law enforcement in Alabama?
5. Do you think Donald Trump has wrongfully used the Presidency to profit himself, his family and his friends? What assurances can you give Alabama voters that you will not wrongfully use the governmental office you are seeking to profit yourself, your family and your friends if you are elected?
6. Do you think Donald Trump can be trusted not to use his Anti-Fraud Task Force to target political opponents and other parties who support Trump's political opponents, and to be sparing with parties who are supportive of Trump? If you think that Trump cannot be so trusted with his Anti-Fraud Task Force, what will you do to try to change that if you are elected to the office you are seeking?
7. Do you think Trump has wrongfully abused his Presidential powers in how he has punished or threatened or otherwise economically coerced law firms, educational institutions, TV networks and other parties for the purpose of diminishing, silencing, or otherwise harming those parties, in order to advance Trump's personal and political interests?
8. Do you think Trump can be trusted not to use ICE wrongfully against Trump's political opponents, wrongfully to foment fear in the populace or wrongfully to interfere in the 2026 elections?
9. Do you think Trump is wrongfully corrupting the economy in how he awards commercial contracts and does other things related to the economy that favors corporations and other parties who support Trump personally and politically and that disfavors corporations and other parties who do not support Trump personally and politically?
I will do my pushing for the foregoing questions to be asked by contacting parties who have special interests in the foregoing questions and other parties who may lend force to getting such questions asked.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Rob Shattuck

On Monday, June 15, 2026 at 10:44:22 PM CDT, Lynda Kirkpatrick <lyndamcdp@gmail.com> wrote:
Aderholt….Part One
Robert Aderholt. Elected by gerrymandering in 1997. He lives in Haleyville one day of the year to qualify to run for the House of Representatives. The remainder of the time, he resides in his million dollar home in a gated community in the State of Virginia with his wife, Caroline. Aderholt is known as a Congregationalist.
Personally, I had never heard of a Congregationalist so I had to research it and found some interesting facts that could well explain his voting record. Congregationalism is a reformed tradition of Protestant Christianity that enjoins a “church polity” in which they are self-governing. They have various confessional statements that include the “Savoy Declaration” and the “Cambridge Platform” and the “Kansas City Statement of Faith.” This within itself is very informative as to the personality of Mr. Aderholt. Mr. Aderholt is also a longtime devoted member of The Fellowship, aka/ The Family in Washington DC that calls itself a “religious organization” however their strict beliefs are more male dominance power.
We have a lot of problems in Alabama and none of which I know of Aderholt taking the time to address. Have you seen Aderholt in your city testing your water? Have you seen Aderholt in your county looking at your closed hospitals? Have you seen Aderholt in your towns talking about your lost jobs? Have you seen any bills that Aderholt has put on the floor of the House of Representatives about your healthcare, or your Social Security, or lowering the price of gas and groceries?
Where are you Robert Aderholt? Are you out doing your photo opps taking credit for bills you voted against? Are you over in Europe advocating for the death penalty for gays on behalf of The Family? Are you making excuses for your voting record against women? Or…are you enjoying your soft life in your million dollar gated community home in Virginia far away from the potholes in our roads and the dying communities in your District?
Aderholt has stood by Trump’s criminal activity and supported him in spite of Trump’s 38 felonies. He has continued to be Trump’s allie in sexually abusing women and bragging about it. He has not said a word in defense of our Veterans the many times Trump has insulted their integrity. He has not walked away from the destruction Trump has inflicted upon our democracy. He has been beside the corruption and agreed with the insults and downplayed the tearing up of our Constitution.
Aderholt was there on January 6th when our Capitol was violently attacked. His wife, Caroline was handing out breakfast biscuits to the mob who were there to overthrow an election, hang our Vice President, and destroy our Capitol. He stood by Trump when a Capitol police officer lost his life defending the lives of the members of our Senate as the crazed violent attackers stormed the Capitol in rage.
District 4 is one of the poorest rural areas in the State of Alabama. He has not once stood up for Alabama in the overrun of poverty. For the past two plus decades, we the people have had NO representation to speak for us about the problems that have gone unaddressed by Aderhot. Too many of our rural schools do not have up to date text books or computers. Our teachers are among the lowest paid in the nation. We have potholes in our public roads that are 8 inches deep. People are working forty hours a week and can’t pay their bills and barely put food on their tables. Our Veterans are driving over 50 to 80 miles to a hospital. We have counties in our District who have not had a hospital in years.
Aderholt has voted against bills to benefit women since day one! He voted against the Violence Against Women Act, UNTIL there was a bill that said that it had to be a violation by an illegal alien! In other words, women can be raped by an American citizen and that’s okay. He also voted against The Fair Pay Act, The Lilly Ledbetter Act, Paycheck Fairness Act, Equality Act, and Employment Discrimination Act. He voted against women in our military having the same medical benefits as the male military. He voted against pregnant women incarcerated to have the medical care that is necessary to have a healthy pregnancy. He voted against the Right to Contraception Act! Please tell me why any Republican woman would vote for this?
We all have our own personal opinions about abortion. The Democratic Party does NOT advocate abortion. We support a woman’s RIGHT TO CHOOSE. I would like for Aderholt to answer this question…. Mr. Aderholt, if a doctor were to tell you that Caroline was pregnant and the fetus was in her tube and if she continued with the pregnancy that the tube would burst and she would bleed out before you could get her to a hospital, would you say “oh well, that’s too bad. I don’t believe in abortion no matter what the circumstance so I guess she will just have to die.” Oh by the way, this is providing there IS a hospital in your county. If you live in Lamar or Pickens County, you are SOL, Congressman. They do not have a hospital.
He hasn’t left out children in Alabama by any means. He voted against CHIP, aka/Children’s Health Insurance Protection Act SIX times! This program allows states to provide pregnancy-related assistance for targeted low-income pregnant women and is a joint federal and state program that provides low-cost health coverage to uninsured children in families that earn too much to qualify for Medicaid but cannot afford private insurance. That is pretty low when you vote against taking care of sick children.
In a bill that was passed just hours ago, Aderholt talked on the floor about how we had to be careful of over funding these programs that will keep four hospitals in his District open. This bill will fund Labor, Health, and Human Services and Education for the next fiscal year. It includes cuts to all three departments that allocate about $110.8 billion to HHS, which is a $4 billion cut from this year’s enacted level. Aderholt’s reasoning for the cuts is because we are almost $40 Trillion in national debt. Has Mr. Aderholt never thought if Donald Trump were not giving tax breaks to millionaires and corporations that Aderholt himself has supported that perhaps our national debt would improve? By the way, all those millions of dollars that the taxpayers have seen go to waste on demolishing the White House, tearing up the Rose Garden, having a UFC birthday bash, starting a war in Iran, and his expensive weekend golf trips might have saved some money on the national debt. This bill also cut $2 million from the Affordable Care Act, and cuts to the HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment funds. Remember, Aderholt does not like gay folks. The Democrats rebuked this bill saying that it cut out the health, education, nutrition and employment programs that support the working class, middle class and vulnerable Americans.
Isn’t it strange that we never see or hear anything from Robert Aderholt until it’s an election year and then here he comes with his photo opps. Does he go to Kennedy, Alabama? Does he show up in Vernon, or Sulligent? Has he ever been on a school tour in Brilliant or Bear Creek? Has he been to NTN to talk to over 200 workers who are losing their jobs? When has he ever met with our Veterans to hear their concerns? Has he ever stopped to think about the high cost of daycare to a single mother or voted to raise the minimum wage? Why has he not tried to pass a bill to end tax on groceries or increase Medicaid? Why is he not fighting to save Social Security and Medicare? He voted against the Senior Protection Act and stood with Trump to lower Medicaid funding for families who need it.
This has been a horror story since 1997, when Aderholt was elected by the gerrymandering redistricting that the Republicans always try to pull to get the monopoly on our government, which they have done. This is the only way they could get Aderholt elected and take Roger Bedford, Democrat, out of our District. Aderholt is re-elected by straight ticket voting by uninformed voters who do not follow his voting record. They would vote for a dead dog if it had an “R” by its name and not even know what they are voting for.
BUT….. we have an alternative. Her name is Amanda Pusczek. Part Two is coming.

Subject: Practicing non-cooperation at scale
Dear Indivisible Mobile:
This email is prompted by your Facebook post announcing a training session "to build the necessary strength to practice non-cooperation at scale"
Your Facebook post says:

Non-cooperation is a key component of nonviolent resistance, and was a hallmark of the Civil Rights movement, as well as having been a successful strategy for striking back against authoritarian regimes all over the world and throughout history. Non-cooperation is best aimed at the pillars that in good times support a healthy society, but in bad times can be forced to serve an authoritarian regime. The main pillars are Business, Labor, Faith Organizations, Educational Institutions, the Civil Service, the Military and Police. (I would include the Media and Health Care, and you can probably think of some others.)

I think targeted emailing I have been doing in Alabama directed at the legal profession, chambers of commerce, local TV stations, educational institutions, churches, and public health constituents has potential for being strong "non-cooperation."
Some of my targeted emailing is set out at Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: Rage Against The Regime challenge.
I have been soliciting Alabama Trump resistance groups and others to join in to do ORGANIZED, targeted emailing that I think could make for "non-cooperation at scale." Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: Continuation of appeal for organized, targeted emailing
Please call me if you see potential here for discussion.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Rob Shattuck

Maura, thank you. Great!!
In the meantime, identifying the Alabama legal profession as "a main pillar that is being forced to serve an authoritarian purpose," today I sent targeted emails to my Alabama lawyers list and Alabama State Bar Bench & Bar Relations Committee list.
The emails put forth to them Joyce Vance's book, Giving Up Is Unforgivable: A Manual for Keeping a Democracy, as my making an initial foray for trying to build "non-cooperation at scale" In Alabama.
My emails are posted at https://trumptweet.blogspot.com/2025/08/non-cooperation-at-scale-in-alabama.html.
I hope Indivisible Mobile and the other Alabama Trump resister groups I have been contacting will study the emails I sent today and are stimulated to think about how such emails can built on for further targeted emailing.
I look forward to your getting back in touch.

To Alabama lawyers:
This email avails of Joyce Vance's new book, Giving Up Is Unforgivable: A Manual for Keeping a Democracy, for my making an initial foray for trying to build "non-cooperation at scale" in Alabama.
The "non-cooperation" terminology comes from an Indivisible Mobile Facebook post , which said, among other things, as follows:
"Non-cooperation is best aimed at the pillars that in good times support a healthy society, but in bad times can be forced to serve an authoritarian regime. The main pillars are Business, Labor, Faith Organizations, Educational Institutions, the Civil Service, the Military and Police." (I [the Facebook poster] would include the Media and Health Care, and you can probably think of some others.)"
I believe the Alabama legal profession is such a main pillar that is being forced to serve an authoritarian purpose.
I hope many Alabama lawyers join in non-cooperation as regards the Alabama legal profession.
If you disagree with my belief that the Alabama legal profession is being forced to serve an authoritarian purpose, please speak up.
Thank you.

Laurie:
Non-cooperation at scale in Alabama needs non-cooperating candidates, and Joyce Vance for Alabama Attorney General would be great.
In May, former Alabama Supreme Court Justice Mitchell announced his candidacy for Alaba,a Attorney General, saying "President Trump is moving boldly to restore the United States Constitution - and we must ensure that his agenda takes root not only in Washington, but also in the states. I feel called to play a larger role in that effort in Alabama."
In response to former Supreme Court Justice Mitchell's announcement, I sent him (and other possible AG candidates) an email that I posted at Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: The January 6th lawbreaker President, day 123. In that email, I say:
"My view is that Donald Trump is seeking to undermine the United States Constitution and the rule of law as part of a relentless. overriding motivation on his part to amass unchecked and ultimately unconstitutional power in himself to rule over the United States.
I will be endeavoring to get my view of Donald Trump raised in, and debated by the candidates in, the 2026 Alabama Attorney General election."
Whether or not Joyce Vance decides to become a candidate for Attorney General, non-cooperators in Alabama must find ways to press their non-cooperation in connection with the AG election.
I have ideas for organized, targeted emailing to do this regarding the AG election.
Any Trump resister who is interested in helping out on this should please contact me.
Thanks,
Rob

Dear Unmute Alabama:
The Unmute Alabama Facebook page was called to my attention by Marsha Sue Sturdevant.
The page proclaims "UNMUTING TRUTH, UNMUTING PROGRESS, UNMUTING ALABAMA" and further says the page is "A platform for empowering progressives in Alabama and beyond. Join us to amplify voices, share solutions, and push for better leadership."
I am trying to participate in a "non-cooperation at scale" strategy being developed by Indivisible Mobile and particularly am advocating the use of organized, targeted emailing as a tool in the strategy. Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: Non-cooperation in Alabama at scale
The purpose of this email is to ask whether Unmute Alabama's functioning has room for "non-cooperation at scale" activities and the organized, targeted emailing I am advocating for.
I would very much like to talk with Unmute Alabama about this.
Thank you.

Ok, thanks very much, Tami.
Organized, targeted emailing seeks to bust out of one's likeminded networks and the sharing messages there, and instead to engage in combat politics in the full arena.
While Unmute Alabama may wish to stay in its lane, I welcome any suggestions from you or others in Unmute Alabama for how I might do better in doing combat politics in the full arena.
Given my objective, I trust you won't mind if I copy on this email the other parties to whom I have been sending my emails.

Subject: Indivisible Mobile is trying organized, targeted emailing
To Alabama Trump resistance groups and others:
Today Indivisible Mobile allowed me to post on its private Facebook page Indivisible Mobile | Facebook the following:
I am in Birmingham.
I have joined the Indivisible Mobile Facebook private group, and I am being allowed to introduce myself to the group and tell the group about organized, targeted emailing that I am trying to promote in Alabama.
I have piggy-backed on the strategy of "non-cooperation at scale" that Indivisible Mobile is trying to develop.
For further explanation of all of this, please read Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: Non-cooperation in Alabama at scale.
Organized, targeted emailing seeks to break out of one's likeminded networks and the sharing of messages there, and instead to engage in combat politics in the full arena.
I solicit members of Indivisible Mobile to participate with me in organized, targeted emailing in the Mobile area, and, even if members don't do actual emailing, I solicit their suggestions for increasing the effectiveness of organized, targeted emailing in the Mobile area.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks.
Following making the foregoing Facebook post, I sent an email to my contacts at Indivisible Mobile, saying:
Thanks for the post I have made on Indivisible Mobile's private Facebook page to get this going.
There's lots of directions this may go. Let me throw out some of the things I am thinking about.
Consideration needs to be given to what messaging and communicating is "public" (my blog and personal Facebook; outward directed emails) and what messaging and communicating is "private" (Indivisible Mobile's private Facebook group page; internal emailing). The "private" stuff may, with appropriate permission, get copied and pasted into "public" space.
An immediate form of the latter is that I may copy and paste my Indivisible Mobile post into my personal Facebook, other groups' Facebooks, and/or an email I send to the parties Maura has seen on numerous emails.
In my blog, I have a number of separate blog entries that target particular categories of targets. I may identify parties in the Mobile area who are in those categories and start sending emails to them. I may post in my blog the emails I send and/or may post the emails on Facebook.
I may draft suggestions for emails to be sent by others who are doing the targeted emailing I am urging to be done.
I will post information on Indivisible Mobile's Facebook page about things I am doing (which posting will be subject to monitoring by the administrators).
Please tell me your reaction to my above thinking and your own thinking.
Thanks.
Rob
I hope other Alabama Trump resistance groups will try organized, targeted emailing, as Indivisible Mobile is doing.
Thanks.

Subject: Re: Trump "national emergency" tariffs blocked; will Dale Strong rush back to DC to get legislation?
Thank you, Maura, for your very thoughtful email.
I think the question is whether anything will budge Alabama's "institutions," such as Alabama TV stations, Alabama's legal profession, and the Alabama business community.
For more than two years, I have tried reasonable importunings addressed to such "institutions" for them to speak up (or at least have internal discussions), appeals to the institutions' professional self-respect, being public for others to judge such "institutions," and raising the specter of fear of Trump as determining what the institutions say or do. E.g., Be An Alabama Rootstriker* with Rob Shattuck: Getting AL TV stations to do better in 2024 elections; Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: The condition of the Department of Justice and its FBI and Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: How fearful of Trump is the Alabama business community?
Virtually nothing I have tried has gotten any response from such "institutions."
I have been doing the foregoing by myself, and seeking organized, targeted emailing is to try to overcome the weakness of one and to gain the strength of many.
Thus far, on top of the unresponsiveness of the target "institutions," I am encountering non-responsiveness of parties, such as those who have been receiving my emails that you have been receiving, which parties should want what I am trying to achieve with the organized, targeted emailing.
Most of the parties have not seen fit to communicate back in any way, such as saying they think I am wasting my time in what I am trying to do and making a pitch to me to join in what they are doing, or that they are supportive of my objective but they do not have the resources to help out, or they are supportive and they have suggestions to me for how I might do better in what I am trying to do.
The emails you have drafted are very worthwhile as being initial emails sent by someone other than myself that may stimulate others to do their own emailing and also stimulate thinking and discussion about what forms and content of targeted emails may actually budge Alabama's "institutions" (such as Alabama TV stations, Alabama's legal profession, and the Alabama business community).
So, yes, please send your emails.
I continue very open to having phone conversations with anyone who wants to talk about organized, targeted emailing.
Also, I am copying on this email parties I have copied on other emails, for whatever "stimulation" of them may result.

Rob,
I'm just trying to get a feel for our role here. I'm thinking we should take your email as a template for local action. We could send an email like this (I've made small changes) to Mobile area TV stations as well and to our own reps? For example:
Dear WKRG News Editor,
The U.S. appeals court has ruled that most Trump tariffs are illegally imposed. A Reuters article quotes the court as finding that "Trump justified both sets of tariffs - as well as more recent levies - under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act...which gives the president the power to address 'unusual and extraordinary' threats during national emergencies. The statute bestows significant authority on the President to undertake a number of actions in response to a declared national emergency," the court said, "but none of these actions explicitly include the power to impose tariffs, duties, or the like, or the power to tax." They went on to say that "it seems unlikely that Congress intended, in enacting IEEPA, to depart from its past practice and grant the President unlimited authority to impose tariffs."
Will your reporters press Representative Barry Moore to say whether he supports these illegal tariffs? And ask Congressman Moore if he believes there is a true "national emergency" despite this administration providing no real evidence beyond wanting to wield power to which they are not entitled?
Will you or will you not get a REAL answer from Moore that you can report to your viewers?
Thank you.

As your constituent, I want to know: do you support these illegal tariffs which are hurting Alabamians? Do you really believe there is a "national emergency" even though President Trump has provided no evidence of one, and clearly seems determined to take on powers to which the Executive is not entitled?
Thank you.

Did you know postcard campaigns are proven to motivate tens of thousands of voters to show up who otherwise wouldn’t?
Our plan is simple but powerful—flood the most flippable House districts with personal, hand-written postcards that call Republicans out on their extremist agenda.
They’ve already gutted health care that millions of Americans rely on to give billionaires a tax break, and we can’t risk waiting around to see the harm they’d cause with another two years in power.
Here’s how we’re taking action:
FIRST: We recruit MoveOn members to host postcard-writing gatherings in communities across the country.
THEN: We provide hosts with training on effective messaging that resonates with voters.
FINALLY: Volunteers write personal messages to voters in these key districts, sharing authentic, moving stories about the dangerous consequences of cutting our health care.
In swing districts with razor-thin victory margins, every vote counts. We need to flip just THREE seats next year—three!—for Democrats to take control of the House. And these postcards could be the difference between flipping a seat or letting the GOP’s hostile takeover of our government continue.
That’s why we’re asking: Can you chip in today for stamps and postcards to help fuel our campaign to flip the House in 2026?

To Alabama Trump resisters:
Continuing my advocacy of organized, targeted emailing, I am availing of (i) a request that was made to me to forward to 20 people a message about a proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution (which message is copied and pasted below), and (ii) Barry Marks sending two emails yesterday that used your email addresses that I use (including on this email).
The hope is that these examples of emailing that helps others in messaging they desire or that is done by others than me will help get more interest on your part in organized, targeted emailing to help with your messaging objectives.
If you wish for your email address to be dropped from the emails I send, please tell me and I will remove your address from my list.
Thanks very much.
[COPIED AND PASTED MESSAGE RE PROPOSED 28TH AMENDMENT]
Please read proposed 28th amendment...and forward. This will only take 1 minute to read! 28th Amendment, 35 States and Counting. It will take you less than a minute to read this. If you agree, please pass it on. It's an idea whose time has come to deal with this self-serving situation: OUR PRESENT SITUATION ! Children of Congress members do not have to pay back their college student loans. Staffers of Congress family members are also exempt from having to pay back student loans. Members of Congress can retire at full pay after only one term. Members of Congress have exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed, under which ordinary citizens must live. For example, they are exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment. And as the latest example, they have exempted themselves from Healthcare Reform, in all of its aspects. We must not tolerate an elite class of such people, elected as public servants and then putting themselves above the law. I truly don't care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent, or whatever. The self-serving must stop. Governors of 35 states have filed suit against the Federal Government for imposing unlawful burdens upon their states. It only takes 38 (of the 50) States to convene a Constitutional Convention. IF??? Each person that receives this will forward it on to 20 people, in three days most people in The United States of America will have the message. Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution: "Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the Citizens of the United States ..." You are one of my 20. We’re asking everyone to forward this email to a minimum of 20 people, and to ask each of those to do likewise. In three days, most people in the United States will have the message. This is an idea that should be passed around, regardless of political party.
The Congressional Reform Act of 2017 1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they're out of office. And, no more perks go with them. 2. Congress (past, present, & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose. 3. Congress must purchase their own retirement plan, just as ALL Americans do. 4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%. 5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people. 6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people (i.e. NO MORE INSIDER TRADING!!!). 7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women. Congress made all these contracts by and for themselves.
Serving in Congress is an honor and privilege, NOT a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators should serve their term(s), then go home and go back to work … not get all kinds of freebies. Just hold your finger down then hit forward and send it to everyone you know.

To Alabama Trump resisters:
This morning, I put a comment on a Facebook post of Indivisible - 5th District North Alabama Facebook, which comment said the following:
Yesterday I put comments on Facebook posts, asking, "Why do you think no one is doing organized, targeted emailing to help the effectiveness of Saturday's No Kings Day protests in Alabama?" I didn't get any replies.
Today I continue my asking of the foregoing question.
https://trumptweet.blogspot.com/2025/08/non-cooperation-at-scale-in-alabama.html
Cindy Allen replied to my comment saying,
that’s a great question and a great suggestion! We’d love for you to volunteer to take that on. Right now, with No Kings Day, 10/18, and our Fall Festival, “Hay Day”, on 10/25, we simply don’t have any volunteers who have the band width to do anymore than they’re currently doing. But if you can take this on, please reach out!
I replied to Cindy Allen, saying
Thank you, Cindy. About all I can say is I feel I have about zero effect being the only one doing the emailing and very much wish to see whether others joining in can make a difference. I will use your urging me to do what I can in trying to attract others to join in.
I continue my solicitation of anyone who is willing to join with me in organized, targeted emailing or is willing to just talk with me about the same (205-967-5586).
Thanks very much.

Dear Mr. Mardis III,
I despair of our national politics and governance.
I think the minority extremes on the two sides control our politics and political discourse and the big majority in the middle (especially independents) is sidelined.
