Kimberly Fasking

 Kimberly Fasking

8h
Friends,
My posts are usually all public.
Not this one.
I’m struggling. I’m fighting every day in a system that is getting less fair every day. Kangaroo courts, a puppy killer heading the agency that decides the fates of my clients, rules that change arbitrarily under our feet.
It’s too much to bear.
It’s really just too much to bear.
That’s it— the whole post. Hug your kids and shit. I hope it’s all gonna be alright.

Tamara Promer Moriya
Yours is the good fight. Thank you.
MAY GOD BLESS YOU with discomfort,
at easy answers, half-truths,
and superficial relationships
so that you may live
deep within your heart.
May God bless you with anger
at injustice, oppression,
and exploitation of people,
so that you may work for
justice, freedom and peace.
May God bless you with tears,
to shed for those who suffer pain,
rejection, hunger, and war,
so that you may reach out your hand
to comfort them and
to turn their pain to joy.
And may God bless you
with enough foolishness
to believe that you can
make a difference in the world,
so that you can do
what others claim cannot be done,
to bring justice and kindness
to all our children and the poor.
Amen
Cathy Ward
I can’t imagine how hard what you do is. Take care of yourself.
Janet Hollomon
I don't know how you do it. You're a courageous woman.
Suzanne Rembert Johnson
I think you need hugs and a St. Germaine spritzer. And a ton more support. Wish I could help more.
Prentiss Hobbs
I think if the mid term vote is allowed to take place things will get better.....if not it will take a miracle to change things......we all know you and people like you are doing all they can......and we will always remember no matter what....
Richard Maddox
Chin up! You’ve got this! We’re all behind you, Kim.
Teri Jefferson Accardo
Hey know that you are loved and truly appreciated for not only what you do with your family but also what you do for your client la and the overall better future for our country. It's scary times, but knowing there are people like you help fighting the good fight gives me hope.
Lisa B. Singer
Thank you for everything you do, Kim. 💙
Victoria Chastain DeLano
I feel this so deeply since having my hands tied not being permitted to work. We have 350 from my agency doing nothing and in a text group staying in touch daily to support one another in our grief for our country and the kids we used to be permitted to save.
Daniel Lopez Rubio
Hey—little by little. Get an office plant and water it and talk to it. Water justice daily’
Melissa K Kendrick
You are appreciated. Deep breaths. We’re fighting with you.
Paula Bagwell
Please Kimberly take a break. This is too much. I will have my birthday on next week and I’m almost 73. I wake up daily at three or 4 AM worrying. Please do not do this. You have a family, be as strong as you can, we love you your clients appreciate you to the end of the Earth. Take care Kimberly take mental health breaks. Do not let it get to you, please people need you. I know we’ve never met, but I love you young lady 🤗💚🐝🦋 we have an earth and planet to save for your children and my grandchildren and their children. I can only imagine the suffering you witness and the frustrating incompetence you experience firsthand. You are so important to this fight. Whatever you need, whenever, we're here for you - there's a big community behind you.
Andrea Shuman Freedman
Kimberly, heaven knows your work is getting harder every day, but you are one of my inspirational figures.
Please know that you are one of the righteous people in an upside down world.
If there is anything I can do to help you, let me know.✊
Connie Slotsky
I'm sorry. It's hard to take a step back, but you've got to take care of yourself. I know there's not a lot of time for that, though. I wish there were an easy answer. Just know how appreciated you are and how your actions are inspiring to all of us. We see you. And we hear you.
Ralph Ables
I commend what you do and I know there is plenty of darkness in the world. Several of my patients have been recently deported and I hate this current situation in our country. But there is also beauty and hope. Y hay que seguir luchando. Case in point: this happened to me less than an hour ago. My son was born. We MUST keep fighting, for him, for them, for all of us.

Kimberly, I am by nature and heart a teacher, I inherited that shit, you are too. We are a dad with the pain of doing justice in the world. Do not let it get to you. You know what to do take breaks. You have more to endure and learn, it is fascinating and it will take your lifetime lady. Hug your kids and your hugs husband. and know that you are deeply loved. We cannot teach all the time, with some of us that’s ingrained to want to educate people, but it’s exhausting. I’m so thankful that I met you with the Morgan County Democrats. Even though we haven’t met in person because of my damn healthh stuff.
Beth Ann Higgs
Hugs and thank you for all you do.
Ada Cortes
Thank you for everything that you do and for fighting so hard for us. Your efforts don’t go unnoticed. I truly hope we all make it out ok from this administration.

Thank you for fighting for basic human rights and decency 🙏🏽. We shall overcome this dark time in our country’s history.

How can we help YOU, specifically? Please let us know. I think we are all fighting in our own ways, however we know how yours is, quite literally, on the front lines. 🫂
Cindee Dale Holmes
Kim, I cannot imagine the hell you are dealing with. This is life and death.
I thought when BAPCPA was passed in 2005 that people’s relief was getting crushed (in USBC). It crushed many of us bankruptcy Atty’s.
This is so much worse.
And I’m so sorry.
Please. Take care. You can not help anyone if you crash.
Cindy Allen
I’m so sorry Kimberly. Step away when you need to - even if just for a break. You’re of no help to the community you serve if you don’t save yourself!❤️
Ann Lee
I think of you often. You are a gladiator.
JD Crowe
You’re an inspirational badass. Rest, recharge and do what you do. 🖤⚡️⭐️🔥

I'm there with you. My courthouse is in Bessemer and I'm watching this administration cripple the common man. It's awful.
Virginia Shea
Sending hugs. No advice or easy (or even hard) answers. What you do is very difficult even in good times, which these are not. ❤️❤️❤️
Belle Peters
Hang in there. We will all get through this together. I am so sorry that your life’s mission & work is under attack right now & I pray daily that people wake up to the atrocities & stop supporting this before it is all too late.
T. Shane Smith
I feel you. Not even close to the extent you must feel it, but I feel you. And I appreciate what you do.
Stephanie Thorn Harris
I can’t imagine how you feel. I can’t imagine the fight. The anger. 🫶🏼
Sheree N. Head
Keep fighting Kim. I know it gets harder by the day but you are on the right side of history, of justice, and humanity.
Beth Hill
I'm so sorry. You've got knowledge, awareness, and deep empathy, which seems like a particularly painful combination right now. 😔

Suzanne de Fae
💔I hope you keep fighting, though I see that this is very hard on you.
Lainie Baldassar
Well get through this. That’s what I keep
Telling myself. It can’t last
Forever. Just like the last time he was in office it’s just this 2.0 is a thousand times worse then we thought.
But someday he’ll be out of office. Or maybe (saying this as nicely as possible since this is fb and we know what can happen with our words…) he will pass away in his sleep forever.
Or something like that.
Then we can dance and piss on his grave.
I swear the only thing that gives me hope is hope. Hope that someday this will pass and we can win the fight and never go through this fucking bullshit again.
Charlene McLaughlin
Wish I knew how to help, Kim
Kathy Stephens
It's shocking. You are in shock even more than we are and I'm in shock. That alligator cage facility in Florida has broken me. I'm ready for the U.S. to divide into two countries.
Christie Lyman Dowling
I hate to hear it. Thank you for trying. I don’t see the end of the tunnel. And the tunnel keeps branching. assume The worst and celebrate holding the ground.
Leah Luker
You have no idea how wonderful you are. No idea
Karl Julian
Kimberly I love and care about you dearly. You are continually on my mind and will forever be one of my biggest heroes. The world is a better place because you are in it and I am in constant awe of you. Call or text me ANYTIME you feel the burden is too heavy to bear. I know you have good people surrounding you, and please count me among them 💜
Chris D Faulkner
We all hear you, we all see you, we all admire your courage, we support your every effort, and you are loved! Take care of yourself and lean on those around you when you need to.
Wendy Wittner Stewart
I’m sorry. I’m so, so sorry. All of the shit that’s happening right now has me constantly infuriated. But I can’t even imagine the hell you’re dealing with up close and personal every day. For what it’s worth, you are a phenomenal human being and you’re an essential part of what’s still holding this country together.
Don’t give up.
Don’t ever fucking give up.
If you need to dump, I’ll give you my number and you can call me and unload anytime.

I want you to keep going, too. But I also want you to find a way to take care of you, find a little relief you can take with you, all the time.❤️
Michael Weems
its so awful. I am glad we have good people like you fighting for dignity and justice. But I am sad that it is grueling and so distressful to you and the people who you are working for. let us know how we can help you
Lisa Parrish Lloyd
I’ve been thinking about you, and how difficult this all has to be, to do the important work you do. Watching DeSantis push hateful, racist anti-immigration s*** in FL was already bad. But this legislative session he wanted to get the jump on implementing Trump’s policies -before they were even in place. He was behind one of early raids, here in Tallahassee, down the street from the capital. And this concentration camp in the Everglades is full on madness. Sociopaths are running the asylum that is the WH. And a lot of them are Florida Man
Steve Crainich
You inspire us all, Kimberly. I barely know you but continue to learn from you. Don’t ever fucking stop being you.
Kay Ponder
God bless you for all you do, Kimberly! Keep the faith!
Kate Hazelrig Brinkley
None of this is ok. We aren’t going to wake up in 2028 unscathed. All we can do is keep trying to do whatever we can for as long as we can. Comfort one another. Answer questions when we can. Pay attention, document and remember for our children and their children. Stare at the moon, the single-file marching of ants, rivers rushing by, tides coming in. We have had it so good for so long by humanity standards. We may never have that again. So all we can do is keep going.
Michelle French
I have felt it hit hard today.
Tim Majors
Love you, inspired by you ❤️
Corky Stewart
I admire that you can continue to fight after all the abuse you've gotten from the system and your charming neighbors in Talibama.
Stephen Harris
My heart bleeds for the agony that you are going through. The poem by Alfred Lord Tennison comes to mind "mine is not to reason why, mine is but to do and die...into the valley of death rode the five hundred". In your case the one! God bless you and much love.

Subject: "Trump’s priorities — the ceaseless aggrandizement of Donald Trump"
Dear Alabama Trump resistance groups:
Brian Lyman, in his commentary Britt and Tuberville enter Trump’s fantasy world at Alabama’s expense | Alabama Reflector, says of Senators Britt and Tuberville: "They've made Trump’s priorities — the ceaseless aggrandizement of Donald Trump — their own."
I say that Trump's overriding motivation at this point in his life is to demonstrate to all the world that he Trump is the most powerful human being on the planet and that he Trump will go down in history as the most consequential United States President ever in imposing his will, for good or bad, on America and the world.
Last December I wrote Senator Britt a letter warning her about Trump's love of power. This letter is posted at Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: Second letter to Katie Britt re Trump and power.
Following the letter to Senator Britt, I emailed Alabama TV stations, political news reporters, lawyers, history professors, chambers of commerce, and Republican and Democratic party organizations about my letter to Senator Britt and Trump's love of power. Such emails are also posted on the foregoing link.
I hope your Alabama Trump resistance groups are supportive of messaging to the Alabama public warning about Trump and his relentless amassing of unchecked power in himself to rule over the country.
Thank you.

How successful Trump will be in mowing down anything and everything that impedes "the ceaseless aggrandizement of Donald Trump" remains to be seen.
To me, it is worth another round of emails to parties I emailed in December regarding Trump and power, and this email is one of such round.
Thank you.

Six months on, I think it is increasingly clear that Trump's priorities at this point in his life are "the ceaseless aggrandizement of Donald Trump" and demonstrating every day to all the world that he Trump is the most powerful human being on the planet and that he Trump will go down in history as the most consequential United States President ever in imposing his will, for good or bad, on America and the world.
How successful Trump will be in mowing down anything and everything that impedes "the ceaseless aggrandizement of Donald Trump" remains to be seen.
To me, it is worth another round of emails to parties I emailed in December regarding Trump and power, and this email is one of such round.
Thank you.

Subject: Your U.S. Senate candidacy - term limits, stock trading and Trump
To Mark Wheeler:
In your candidacy for United States Senator from Alabama, your campaign website puts forth two issues under the captions "Term Limits" and "Stocks In Congress." Issues – Mark Wheeler for Senate.
Regarding these two issues, your website says, among other things,
"One of the greatest threats to a healthy democracy is the concentration of power over extended periods of time. As the old saying goes, 'absolute power corrupts absolutely,' and no one is immune to the temptations that come with unchecked authority."
. . . .
"When members of Congress are allowed to trade stocks, it raises serious concerns about whose interests they are truly serving. Are they working for the people, or for their own financial benefit? When public trust is broken, it becomes harder for citizens to believe in the integrity of their government and its leaders."
"Unchecked/absolute power", "conflicts of interest", and resultant "broken public trust" are deserving of your attention at the Congressional level in your Senatorial campaign.
I urge you also to go above the Congressional level and go expressly at Donald Trump at the Presidential level as being the worst case ever in the history of the United States of "unchecked/absolute power," "conflicts of interest" and resultant "broken public trust."
I assess that Trump's overriding motivation at this juncture in his life is to be, and show to the world that he is, the most powerful and consequential President (for good or bad) in the history of the United States. and this entails Trump aggrandizing money, power and glory in himself, unlike anything before in the United States.
The Republicans in Congress are all enablers of Trump's seif-aggrandizements, and such Republicans should be attacked mercilessly for this in course of the 2026 elections.
I hope you will take this up in your United States Senate campaign in Alabama.
Sincerely,
Rob Shattuck

Ode to Trump
[Julius Caesar, Act I, Scene II Cassius speaks to Brutus]
Why, man, he doth bestride the narrow world
Like a Colossus, and we petty men
Walk under his huge legs and peep about
To find ourselves dishonorable graves.
Men at some time are masters of their fates.
The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars,
But in ourselves, that we are underlings.
“Brutus” and “Caesar”—what should be in that “Caesar”?
Why should that name be sounded more than yours?
Write them together, yours is as fair a name;
Sound them, it doth become the mouth as well;
Weigh them, it is as heavy; conjure with ’em,
“Brutus” will start a spirit as soon as “Caesar.”
Now, in the names of all the gods at once,
Upon what meat doth this our Caesar feed
That he is grown so great? Age, thou art shamed!
Rome, thou hast lost the breed of noble bloods!
When could they say, till now, that talked of Rome,
That her wide walks encompassed but one man?
Now is it Rome indeed, and room enough
When there is in it but only one man.
O, you and I have heard our fathers say
There was a Brutus once that would have brooked
Th’ eternal devil to keep his state in Rome
As easily as a king.
