Strategy and tactics of organized emailing

Organized emailing in Alabama seeks to break out of people's Facebook silos and engage with non-likeminded people and "institutions" in order to try to influence Alabama public opinion and voting.

This is to be done by "working" an issue through organized emailing.

The "working" needs a start, and then the same needs to be expanded.

Let me pick the issue of "rule of law" and start work on the same.

First there needs to be a basis of items to work from.

Rule of law

April 6th Facebook post of Guy Rawlings
Guy Rawlings WVTM 13 News

The U.S. Supreme Court cleared the way for a likely dismissal of Steve Bannon’s contempt of Congress conviction tied to the January 6 Capitol attack investigation, sending the case back to a trial judge to consider the Justice Department’s request, supported by the Donald Trump administration, to drop it “in the interests of justice.”
Bannon had been convicted in 2022 for defying a subpoena from the House January 6 Committee and served a four-month prison sentence, so any dismissal would largely be symbolic but would erase the conviction. The move reflects a broader shift by the Justice Department under Trump to unwind prosecutions tied to the Capitol riot probe, which Bannon and allies have long argued was politically driven and entangled in executive privilege disputes.
The precedent it sets is more consequential than the immediate outcome: by allowing the executive branch to abandon enforcement of a congressional subpoena after a conviction, the decision could weaken Congress’s ability to compel testimony in future investigations. It signals that compliance disputes, especially those involving claims of executive privilege, may ultimately hinge less on the courts and more on which administration is in power, potentially making congressional subpoenas harder to enforce and more vulnerable to political reversal.

Subject: Republican Attorney General primary debate held at The Club
Dear Republican Alabama Attorney General candidates Robertson, Mitchell and Casey:
I am developing a strategy of organized emailing as set out at Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: Strategy and tactics of organized emailing.
The first issue I am taking up for organized emailing is the rule of law.
You participated in a debate at The Club in Birmingham on March 19th, as reported at GOP Attorney General candidates face off at debate - Alabama Daily News.
I believe this debate can be utilized in starting organized emailing about the rule of law, and I will post this email on my link set forth above.
Alabama Policy Institute's Facebook post about the debate indicates that WBRC 6 News' Jonathan Harbison and 105.5 WERC's JT Nyse were on the debate panel, and they are copied on this email (JT via 105.5 WERC's online contact form), as well as the Alabama Daily News reporter Claire Harrison (via todd@aldailynews.com).
I hope organized emailing will impact the rule of law issue in Alabama.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Rob Shattuck

Subject: To AL State Bar Executive Council- re organized emailing in AL and rule of law
I am trying to generate organized emailing in Alabama regarding the rule of law. See "Rule of law" in Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: Strategy and tactics of organized emailing.
This email to the Alabama State Bar Executive Council is in furtherance of such goal and will be posted in the foregoing link.
To add current grist for conversation, I link a video of Todd Blanche's news conference on Tuesday. WATCH LIVE: Acting Attorney General Blanche holds news conference.
In the news conference, Todd Blanche announced the creation of a National Fraud Enforcement Division and also responded to questions about whether he will be facing additional pressure by Donald Trump to secure indictments against political opponents, saying every case would be investigated "to the fullest extent of the law, using all of the resources we can," including those involving Donald Trump's enemies.
In the news conference, Todd Blanche fulsomely expressed his love for Donald Trump.
If I can get organized emailing going, maybe the Alabama State Bar Executive Council will join in public conversation about Todd Blanche and other matters that concern or should concern Americans about the rule of law.
Thank you.

Subject: Alabama State Bar Bench & Bar Relations Committee, Sen. Tuberville and "corrupt" judges
Dear Judge Johnson,
I am writing to you in your capacity as Chair of the Alabama State Bar Bench & Bar Relations Committee.
U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville says, if he becomes governor, he will be very proactive to reduce crime in Alabama. Tuberville promises to clean up crime in Montgomery if elected governor: Won’t allow Alabamians to ‘live in a war zone’ - NewsBreak.
According to Sen. Tuberville, "corrupt" judges are a significant part of the crime problem, Sen. Tuberville saying “We’re going to go after these corrupt judges that when these people are arrested, they go through the front door and let them out the back door."
Does the Alabama State Bar Bench & Bar Relations Committee have anything to say about what Sen. Tuberville says about "corrupt" judges contributing to the crime problem in Alabama?
I am a retired Alabama lawyer asking the foregoing question.
Also, I am in touch with Alabamians who are not lawyers about this question, one of whom I am copying on this email (in addition to Michael Yaffee of Yellowhammer News, who wrote the linked article).
Thank you for whatever can say in response to this email.

Subject: Re: University of Montevallo Presidential search and Donald Trump
Dear "reply to all" email recipients:
Millions of Americans have protested in the streets against Donald Trump.
Now, polls indicate that tens of millions of Americans "strongly disapprove" of Donald Trump.
Trump seems unfazed and increasingly hellbent for more power, self-aggrandizement and self-glorification.
We are individually puny and individually can only do puny things against Trump.
Each must do their own puny thing, with a view to all of our puny things adding up to stop Trump.
My puny thing is using, and trying to get others to use, email to expand the national protest against Donald Trump.
I am gratified that, on my original email here, one recipient (Anita Alley) did a "reply to all" email, a recipient of Anita's "reply to all" email (Laurie Beth Kesterson) did a further "reply to all" email, and this has afforded me the opportunity to do this "reply to all" email to Laurie Beth's email.
I would like to think that these "reply to all" emails result in increased attention to the battling that tens of millions of Americans are doing against Donald Trump and that inspires people to participate in the organized emailing I am trying to promote.
Thanks for your consideration here.

I gave them my name and telephone number and said I was interested in discussing organized emailing as a way to extend the messaging of street events such as they were having at Pepper Place.
A next step I will take will be to formulate my thoughts about what issues Congressional candidates in Alabama should push in their campaigns, how such issues should be framed, and organized emailing ideas for messaging about the same.
Please provide me any thoughts you have.

Dear Professor Hartog:
Are you (or is anyone else in the Samford history department) in a position to comment publicly about the significance of Justice Department scrubs website of news releases about Jan. 6 defendants | AP News?
This is part of the controversy about whether Trump is trying to rewrite the history of January 6th and how that affects or can affect our democracy, the rule of law, and our governance, politics and elections.
My goal here is to complain to Senators Tuberville and Britt and Congressman Palmer about Trump seeking to rewrite the history of January 6th, and a public comment from someone such as yourself would be very helpful to me.
Thanks for anything you can do here.

Do any of you feel like saying “Finally, a Republican with some scruples?” Republican Ken McFeeters has challenged the eligibility of Tommy Tuberville to be on the Republican ballot in November for Governor of Alabama. Alabama’s Constitution, Article V, Section 117, requires a gubernatorial candidate to be a "resident citizen" of the state for at least seven years prior to the election. Critics and political opponents have challenged Tuberville's eligibility, alleging he has not continuously maintained his primary residence in Alabama, citing his previous ties and property ownership in Florida.
Tuberville submitted copies of his income tax returns in an attempt to prove his residency, however, this may not be enough for him to qualify. The redacted returns show a “partial” return for 2018, when Tubervile and his wife, Suzanne filed a joint tax return in 2017. Tuberville also voted in Walton County, Florida in 2018. If Tuberville is claiming an Alabama residence in 2017, and voted in Florida in 2018, that is a felony crime. Tuberville didn’t register to vote in Alabama until 2019, about two weeks before he announced his campaign for the United States Senate. Also, some of the income tax copies were “blacked out.” What was Tommy hiding?
The hearing is now set for June 14th, in Birmingham and will be open to the public. Tuberville will be represented by Bert Jordon, a Birmingham attorney who has represented the last three governors of Alabama. Jordan is a strong supporter of the ALGOP in the United States Supreme Court amicus filings related to the congressional district. The Alabama Republican Party is represented by Balch & Bingham LLP who is said to be the most powerful law firm in Alabama.
Round Two is the question of John Wahl. Wahl is the former Chairman of the Alabama Republican Party, who is now running for Lt. Governor of Alabama. But….and this is another big BUT, is Wahl qualified? Wahl was born Nehemiah Ezekiel Wahl and resided in the State of Tennessee. He has a Tennessee issued driver’s license in the name Nehemiah Ezekiel Wahl. Wahl used the name “John Wahl” on official Alabama documents including ethics disclosures that asked for his “full legal name.” In order to vote in Alabama, he presented a fake state employee ID card identifying him as John Wahl, which Wahl admitted that he created himself. The Alabama Secretary of State, John Merrill determined that Wahl’s photo ID was “not a valid ID.” Bill Britt, in an opinion piece for Alabama Political Reporter, alleged in 2026, that Wahl was registered to vote in Tennessee and Alabama at the same time, under two different names. Two secretaries of state in Alabama, and Tennessee have repeated the claims but, there has not been a formal investigation. To vote in one state while residing in another is a felony. The question is, why is John Wahl not being charged with voter fraud?
This within itself is enough to cause anyone to doubt the fairness of our election process. What we have here is the Republicans who are protecting their own. I have no doubt that if Tuberville or Wahl were Democrats, neither of them would have ended up on our ballot for office.

Thank you.

Email re questions for candidates at June 8th Republican primary debate

Sent: Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at 10:28:57 AM CDT
Subject: 1819 News hosting Republican primary runoff debate
Dear Ms. Thomas:
Between now and next Tuesday, I will push for the following questions to be asked of the candidates at the June 8th Republican primary debate that 1819 News is hosting per 1819 News hosting Republican primary runoff debate:
1. Should Alabama voters, in deciding whether to vote for you for the governmental leadership position and office you are seeking, consider relevant your views about anything concerning Donald Trump? What, if anything, do you wish to say to Alabama voters about Donald Trump?
2. What is your opinion of Donald Trump's honesty (or dishonesty) and truthfulness (or untruthfulness), compared to the honesty (or dishonesty) and truthfulness (or untruthfulness) of other politicians? How you think your opinion about Trump's honesty (or dishonesty) and truthfulness (or untruthfulness) will affect the opinion of Alabama voters about your own honesty and truthfulness.
3. Do you think Donald Trump foments anger, hate and division in the country? If so, do you approve of Donald Trump doing that? If you do not approve, will you say publicly you do not approve, and, if you are elected to the office you are seeking, will you do anything to try to reduce the anger, hate and division that Donald Trump foments.
4. Do you think Donald Trump has wrongfully weaponized the Department of Justice against his political opponents and against others who disagree with Trump? Do you see any risk of the Alabama Governor, Lt. Governor or Attorney General doing similarly with district attorneys and other law enforcement in Alabama?
5. Do you think Donald Trump has wrongfully used the Presidency to profit himself, his family and his friends? What assurances can you give Alabama voters that you will not wrongfully use the governmental office you are seeking to profit yourself, your family and your friends if you are elected?
6. Do you think Donald Trump can be trusted not to use his Anti-Fraud Task Force to target political opponents and other parties who support Trump's political opponents, and to be sparing with parties who are supportive of Trump? If you think that Trump cannot be so trusted with his Anti-Fraud Task Force, what will you do to try to change that if you are elected to the office you are seeking?
7. Do you think Trump has wrongfully abused his Presidential powers in how he has punished or threatened or otherwise economically coerced law firms, educational institutions, TV networks and other parties for the purpose of diminishing, silencing, or otherwise harming those parties, in order to advance Trump's personal and political interests?
8. Do you think Trump can be trusted not to use ICE wrongfully against Trump's political opponents, wrongfully to foment fear in the populace or wrongfully to interfere in the 2026 elections?
9. Do you think Trump is wrongfully corrupting the economy in how he awards commercial contracts and does other things related to the economy that favors corporations and other parties who support Trump personally and politically and that disfavors corporations and other parties who do not support Trump personally and politically?
I will do my pushing for the foregoing questions to be asked by contacting parties who have special interests in the foregoing questions and other parties who may lend force to getting such questions asked.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Rob Shattuck

Subject: Alabama State Bar Fw: 1819 News hosting Republican primary runoff debate
To: Alabama State Bar Executive Council c/o Executive Director Lovell
The below forwarded email seeks to push questions to be asked of the candidates at the June 8th Republican primary debate being hosted by 1819 News and says I will do pushing by contacting parties who have special interests in the questions and other parties who may lend force to getting such questions asked.
It seems to me that, at a minimum, the Alabama State Bar could express its support for the rule of law and the role of the rule of law in the functioning of our democracy by Alabama State Bar President Helmsing (or other appropriate representative of the Alabama State Bar) sending me a reply email saying along the lines of, "The Alabama State Bar is very supportive of the rule of law. Your interest in whether the rule of law is being damaged by President Trump is a legitimate interest of the citizenry, and your seeking the candidates at the June 8th Republican primary debate to be asked and for them to answer questions about the same is laudable in the functioning of in our democracy."
I very much hope I will receive a reply.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Rob Shattuck

Dear Mr. Neese:
In a June 2nd Facebook post, you publicized a breakfast with Republican candidates at VFW Post 2214 in Cullman on June 6th (tomorrow). Your post said, "It’s time to be an informed citizenry. I need 100 people to comment they are coming Saturday and show up. Stop complaining and start engaging in our local government. We must do better or else!!!
From your Facebook I take you as an active businessman in real estate.
I have a number of questions for Republican primary runoff candidates that I am pushing to be asked, per the below email I sent to Erica Thomas of 1819 News.
My email says I will push for my questions to be asked by contacting parties who have special interests in the foregoing questions and other parties who may lend force to getting such questions asked.
I think the Alabama business community has a special interest in some of the questions.
I am availing of your Facebook post, and this email and the parties copied on this email, to do pushing on the Alabama business community.
Thank you.
Sincerely,

So, let me ask: Will you circulate to directors of the Association the below email I sent to you yesterday?
Or do I need to send the email to Association directors if I want for one or more of them to see the email?

Subject: What do Alabama's veterans think about what Secretary Hegseth said on D-Day?
Dear Veterans of Foreign Wars Alabama District 7:
I am not a military veteran.
During this year's D-Day commemorations in France, Secretary Hegseth said the following regarding immigration in Europe:
“Sadly, today, different European beaches are stormed by different, dangerous ideologies. Beaches in Spain, in Italy, in Greece and Bulgaria; boats and men arrive. When will European capitals do something about that invasion? Or is it too late? I pray not, and I believe not”
A video of this is at Hegseth uses D-Day speech to attack immigration in Europe.
It seems to me that millions of impoverished people around the globe live under tyranny, oppression and violence, and they desperately seek to escape for better lives in countries that have fought against tyranny and that stand for freedom and democracy the same as the United States. Resultant global population flows growing from this present great problems for the countries where better lives are being sought. One of the problems is that some people who seek entry are ideologically dangerous to the countries they seek to enter. All of this is not easy of solution for the countries in question (including the United States), and the countries must figure out their ways individually and collectively.
I think it is lamentable the way Donald Trump insults and does not back countries that are allies of the United States, and instead Donald Trump favors countries that are enemies of the United States such as Russia and that are very dangerous to America's values.
I think what Secretary Hegseth said during the D-Day commemorations was especially reprehensible insulting of allies of the United States, when you think instead Secretary Hegseth could have invoked the fighting and dying that Ukranians are doing to defend against the Russian invasion of Ukraine, as a current day embodiment of what the dying of Americans, British and Canadians on the beaches of Normandy on June 6th, 1944, in order to free Europe from the tyranny of Nazi Germany, meant and continues to mean.
I am interested in what Alabama veterans think. Please tell me if Veterans of Foreign Wars Alabama District 7 would care to say anything.
To be forthright, Veterans of Foreign Wars Alabama District 7 should know that this email is part of an effort I am making to get GOP primary runoff candidates (including "veterans" Barry Moore and Jared Hudson who are defining "character" by who can be nastier in attacking his opponent) to answer questions that are set out in the below "forwarded" email.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
