Alabama lawyer Barry Marks' statement re Trump

[Alabama lawyer Barry Marks posted the below statement on his Facebook today and has indicated it is public and may be circulated to other Alabama lawyers.]

After nearly 50 years in practice, I will now join the ABA.

We must speak up against Mr. Trump’s attempts to take power beyond the limits created by our Constitution. His appointment of unqualified loyalists and persecution of potential opponents leave no question as to his intentions.

Even those of us who might agree with reducing the size and expense of our government must draw the line at Mr. Trump’s disregard for the law that creates and limits the power of his office.

We must speak up and remind our elected representatives, Democrat and Republican, that we are watching and we will remember those who placed their careers above their duty to the rule of law and the best interests of our nation.
