Subject: "President Trump is moving boldly to restore the United States Constitution"
Dear former Alabama Supreme Court Justice Mitchell,
I am a retired Alabama lawyer.
In your letter to Governor Ivey resigning as Alabama Supreme Court Justice (Alabama Supreme Court Justice Jay Mitchell resigns), you say, "President Trump is moving boldly to restore the United States Constitution - and we must ensure that his agenda takes root not only in Washington, but also in the states. I feel called to play a larger role in that effort in Alabama."
In this regard, you are being touted as the front runner to be the next Alabama Attorney General, other possible candidates being former United States attorney Jay Town, AG Steve Marshall's special counsel Katherine Robertson, and Blount County District Attorney Pamela Casey. Candidates flock to attorney general's race | INSIDE THE STATEHOUSE.
My view is that Donald Trump is seeking to undermine the United States Constitution and the rule of law as part of a relentless. overriding motivation on his part to amass unchecked and ultimately unconstitutional power in himself to rule over the United States.
I will be endeavoring to get my view of Donald Trump raised in, and debated by the candidates in, the 2026 Alabama Attorney General election.
Thank you for reading this email.
Sincerely,
Rob Shattuck
