Friends,
My posts are usually all public.
Not this one.
I’m struggling. I’m fighting every day in a system that is getting less fair every day. Kangaroo courts, a puppy killer heading the agency that decides the fates of my clients, rules that change arbitrarily under our feet.
It’s too much to bear.
It’s really just too much to bear.
That’s it— the whole post. Hug your kids and shit. I hope it’s all gonna be alright.
Tamara Promer Moriya
Yours is the good fight. Thank you.
MAY GOD BLESS YOU with discomfort,
at easy answers, half-truths,
and superficial relationships
so that you may live
deep within your heart.
May God bless you with anger
at injustice, oppression,
and exploitation of people,
so that you may work for
justice, freedom and peace.
May God bless you with tears,
to shed for those who suffer pain,
rejection, hunger, and war,
so that you may reach out your hand
to comfort them and
to turn their pain to joy.
And may God bless you
with enough foolishness
to believe that you can
make a difference in the world,
so that you can do
what others claim cannot be done,
to bring justice and kindness
to all our children and the poor.
Amen

I feel this so deeply since having my hands tied not being permitted to work. We have 350 from my agency doing nothing and in a text group staying in touch daily to support one another in our grief for our country and the kids we used to be permitted to save.

I'm sorry. It's hard to take a step back, but you've got to take care of yourself. I know there's not a lot of time for that, though. I wish there were an easy answer. Just know how appreciated you are and how your actions are inspiring to all of us. We see you. And we hear you.

I commend what you do and I know there is plenty of darkness in the world. Several of my patients have been recently deported and I hate this current situation in our country. But there is also beauty and hope. Y hay que seguir luchando. Case in point: this happened to me less than an hour ago. My son was born. We MUST keep fighting, for him, for them, for all of us.

Kimberly, I am by nature and heart a teacher, I inherited that shit, you are too. We are a dad with the pain of doing justice in the world. Do not let it get to you. You know what to do take breaks. You have more to endure and learn, it is fascinating and it will take your lifetime lady. Hug your kids and your hugs husband. and know that you are deeply loved. We cannot teach all the time, with some of us that’s ingrained to want to educate people, but it’s exhausting. I’m so thankful that I met you with the Morgan County Democrats. Even though we haven’t met in person because of my damn healthh stuff.

Kim, I cannot imagine the hell you are dealing with. This is life and death.
I thought when BAPCPA was passed in 2005 that people’s relief was getting crushed (in USBC). It crushed many of us bankruptcy Atty’s.
This is so much worse.
And I’m so sorry.
Please. Take care. You can not help anyone if you crash.

Telling myself. It can’t last
Forever. Just like the last time he was in office it’s just this 2.0 is a thousand times worse then we thought.
But someday he’ll be out of office. Or maybe (saying this as nicely as possible since this is fb and we know what can happen with our words…) he will pass away in his sleep forever.
Or something like that.
Then we can dance and piss on his grave.
I swear the only thing that gives me hope is hope. Hope that someday this will pass and we can win the fight and never go through this fucking bullshit again.

I’ve been thinking about you, and how difficult this all has to be, to do the important work you do. Watching DeSantis push hateful, racist anti-immigration s*** in FL was already bad. But this legislative session he wanted to get the jump on implementing Trump’s policies -before they were even in place. He was behind one of early raids, here in Tallahassee, down the street from the capital. And this concentration camp in the Everglades is full on madness. Sociopaths are running the asylum that is the WH. And a lot of them are Florida Man

None of this is ok. We aren’t going to wake up in 2028 unscathed. All we can do is keep trying to do whatever we can for as long as we can. Comfort one another. Answer questions when we can. Pay attention, document and remember for our children and their children. Stare at the moon, the single-file marching of ants, rivers rushing by, tides coming in. We have had it so good for so long by humanity standards. We may never have that again. So all we can do is keep going.

My heart bleeds for the agony that you are going through. The poem by Alfred Lord Tennison comes to mind "mine is not to reason why, mine is but to do and die...into the valley of death rode the five hundred". In your case the one! God bless you and much love.
