Subject: "Trump’s priorities — the ceaseless aggrandizement of Donald Trump"
Dear Alabama Trump resistance groups:
Brian Lyman, in his commentary Britt and Tuberville enter Trump’s fantasy world at Alabama’s expense | Alabama Reflector, says of Senators Britt and Tuberville: "They've made Trump’s priorities — the ceaseless aggrandizement of Donald Trump — their own."
I say that Trump's overriding motivation at this point in his life is to demonstrate to all the world that he Trump is the most powerful human being on the planet and that he Trump will go down in history as the most consequential United States President ever in imposing his will, for good or bad, on America and the world.
Last December I wrote Senator Britt a letter warning her about Trump's love of power. This letter is posted at Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: Second letter to Katie Britt re Trump and power.
Following the letter to Senator Britt, I emailed Alabama TV stations, political news reporters, lawyers, history professors, chambers of commerce, and Republican and Democratic party organizations about my letter to Senator Britt and Trump's love of power. Such emails are also posted on the foregoing link.
I hope your Alabama Trump resistance groups are supportive of messaging to the Alabama public warning about Trump and his relentless amassing of unchecked power in himself to rule over the country.
Thank you.

Subject: Your U.S. Senate candidacy - term limits, stock trading and Trump
To Mark Wheeler:
In your candidacy for United States Senator from Alabama, your campaign website puts forth two issues under the captions "Term Limits" and "Stocks In Congress." Issues – Mark Wheeler for Senate.
Regarding these two issues, your website says, among other things,
"One of the greatest threats to a healthy democracy is the concentration of power over extended periods of time. As the old saying goes, 'absolute power corrupts absolutely,' and no one is immune to the temptations that come with unchecked authority.""Unchecked/absolute power", "conflicts of interest", and resultant "broken public trust" are deserving of your attention at the Congressional level in your Senatorial campaign.
. . . .
"When members of Congress are allowed to trade stocks, it raises serious concerns about whose interests they are truly serving. Are they working for the people, or for their own financial benefit? When public trust is broken, it becomes harder for citizens to believe in the integrity of their government and its leaders."
I urge you also to go above the Congressional level and go expressly at Donald Trump at the Presidential level as being the worst case ever in the history of the United States of "unchecked/absolute power," "conflicts of interest" and resultant "broken public trust."
I assess that Trump's overriding motivation at this juncture in his life is to be, and show to the world that he is, the most powerful and consequential President (for good or bad) in the history of the United States. and this entails Trump aggrandizing money, power and glory in himself, unlike anything before in the United States.
The Republicans in Congress are all enablers of Trump's seif-aggrandizements, and such Republicans should be attacked mercilessly for this in course of the 2026 elections.
I hope you will take this up in your United States Senate campaign in Alabama.
Sincerely,
Rob Shattuck

Ode to Trump
[Julius Caesar, Act I, Scene II Cassius speaks to Brutus]Why, man, he doth bestride the narrow world
Like a Colossus, and we petty men
Walk under his huge legs and peep about
To find ourselves dishonorable graves.
Men at some time are masters of their fates.
The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars,
But in ourselves, that we are underlings.
“Brutus” and “Caesar”—what should be in that “Caesar”?
Why should that name be sounded more than yours?
Write them together, yours is as fair a name;
Sound them, it doth become the mouth as well;
Weigh them, it is as heavy; conjure with ’em,
“Brutus” will start a spirit as soon as “Caesar.”
Now, in the names of all the gods at once,
Upon what meat doth this our Caesar feed
That he is grown so great? Age, thou art shamed!
Rome, thou hast lost the breed of noble bloods!
When could they say, till now, that talked of Rome,
That her wide walks encompassed but one man?
Now is it Rome indeed, and room enough
When there is in it but only one man.
O, you and I have heard our fathers say
There was a Brutus once that would have brooked
Th’ eternal devil to keep his state in Rome
As easily as a king.
