Dear Ms. Pusczek:
For what they may be worth to you, please see the "Suggestions for Alabama Congressional candidates" that I am drafting at Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: Suggestions for Alabama Congressional candidates.
Also, please know I am trying to develop organized emailing as a campaigning tool (Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: Strategy and tactics of organized emailing), and I hope you will consider the same for use in your campaign against Robert Aderholt in Alabama's 4th Congressional district.

Subject: Shoals Chamber and Phillip W. Williams Jr., new U.S. Attorney for ND of Alabama
Dear Shoals Chamber of Commerce President Burns:
I am a busybody, retired Alabama lawyer.
I am trying to avail of Donald Trump's installing Phillip W. Williams Jr. as the new U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama as a basis for instigating debate in Alabama at this point in the 2026 elections about Trump corruption, the rule of law, and weaponization of the Department of Justice by Trump. See Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: Phillip W. Williams Jr., new U.S. Attorney for ND of Alabama.
The Alabama business community has, or should have, an interest in the extent to which Trump is corrupting the American economy by Trump's using the Presidency to profit himself and his family, by Trump's business dealings with foreign entities and having the Federal government acquire stakes in business corporations, and by Trump's awarding Federal contracts to parties as Trump chooses.
Such corruption of the American economy by Trump goes on by Trump turning the United States Department of Justice into Trump's private law firm.
Whether Trump's corruption will or will not be stopped by the courts is playing out. Donald Trump slams courts after Kennedy Center ruling, vows to fight 'rigged' system.
The complicity of the Republicans in Congress in Trump's corruption is a huge factor, and the 2026 elections will be the ultimate opportunity for voters to be a check on Trump's corruption in our government of "checks and balances." (May such "check" be manifested by the voters in the Alabama 4th Congressional district voting against Robert Aderholt in November.)
You may wonder why I have chosen the Shoals Chamber of Commerce to whom to send this email.
I have previously done emailing to Alabama chambers of commerce to try to raise concerns about Trump. See particularly the August 8, 2025, email I sent to Alabama chambers of commerce that is posted at Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: How fearful of Trump is the Alabama business community?.
I have gotten no response to this previous emailing to Alabama chambers of commerce, and such has contributed to my picking the Shoals Chamber of Commerce for this email. (Lucky you, hunh?!)
Thank you for any attention you give to this email.
Sincerely,
Rob Shattuck

Subject: 1819 News hosting Republican primary runoff debate
Dear Ms. Thomas:
Between now and next Tuesday, I will push for the following questions to be asked of the candidates at the June 8th Republican primary debate that 1819 News is hosting per 1819 News hosting Republican primary runoff debate:
1. Should Alabama voters, in deciding whether to vote for you for the governmental leadership position and office you are seeking, consider relevant your views about anything concerning Donald Trump? What, if anything, do you wish to say to Alabama voters about Donald Trump?
2. What is your opinion of Donald Trump's honesty (or dishonesty) and truthfulness (or untruthfulness), compared to the honesty (or dishonesty) and truthfulness (or untruthfulness) of other politicians? How you think your opinion about Trump's honesty (or dishonesty) and truthfulness (or untruthfulness) will affect the opinion of Alabama voters about your own honesty and truthfulness.
3. Do you think Donald Trump foments anger, hate and division in the country? If so, do you approve of Donald Trump doing that? If you do not approve, will you say publicly you do not approve, and, if you are elected to the office you are seeking, will you do anything to try to reduce the anger, hate and division that Donald Trump foments.
4. Do you think Donald Trump has wrongfully weaponized the Department of Justice against his political opponents and against others who disagree with Trump? Do you see any risk of the Alabama Governor, Lt. Governor or Attorney General doing similarly with district attorneys and other law enforcement in Alabama?
5. Do you think Donald Trump has wrongfully used the Presidency to profit himself, his family and his friends? What assurances can you give Alabama voters that you will not wrongfully use the governmental office you are seeking to profit yourself, your family and your friends if you are elected?
6. Do you think Donald Trump can be trusted not to use his Anti-Fraud Task Force to target political opponents and other parties who support Trump's political opponents, and to be sparing with parties who are supportive of Trump? If you think that Trump cannot be so trusted with his Anti-Fraud Task Force, what will you do to try to change that if you are elected to the office you are seeking?
7. Do you think Trump has wrongfully abused his Presidential powers in how he has punished or threatened or otherwise economically coerced law firms, educational institutions, TV networks and other parties for the purpose of diminishing, silencing, or otherwise harming those parties, in order to advance Trump's personal and political interests?
8. Do you think Trump can be trusted not to use ICE wrongfully against Trump's political opponents, wrongfully to foment fear in the populace or wrongfully to interfere in the 2026 elections?
9. Do you think Trump is wrongfully corrupting the economy in how he awards commercial contracts and does other things related to the economy that favors corporations and other parties who support Trump personally and politically and that disfavors corporations and other parties who do not support Trump personally and politically?
I will do my pushing for the foregoing questions to be asked by contacting parties who have special interests in the foregoing questions and other parties who may lend force to getting such questions asked.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Rob Shattuck

Aderholt….Part One
Robert Aderholt. Elected by gerrymandering in 1997. He lives in Haleyville one day of the year to qualify to run for the House of Representatives. The remainder of the time, he resides in his million dollar home in a gated community in the State of Virginia with his wife, Caroline. Aderholt is known as a Congregationalist.
Personally, I had never heard of a Congregationalist so I had to research it and found some interesting facts that could well explain his voting record. Congregationalism is a reformed tradition of Protestant Christianity that enjoins a “church polity” in which they are self-governing. They have various confessional statements that include the “Savoy Declaration” and the “Cambridge Platform” and the “Kansas City Statement of Faith.” This within itself is very informative as to the personality of Mr. Aderholt. Mr. Aderholt is also a longtime devoted member of The Fellowship, aka/ The Family in Washington DC that calls itself a “religious organization” however their strict beliefs are more male dominance power.
We have a lot of problems in Alabama and none of which I know of Aderholt taking the time to address. Have you seen Aderholt in your city testing your water? Have you seen Aderholt in your county looking at your closed hospitals? Have you seen Aderholt in your towns talking about your lost jobs? Have you seen any bills that Aderholt has put on the floor of the House of Representatives about your healthcare, or your Social Security, or lowering the price of gas and groceries?
Where are you Robert Aderholt? Are you out doing your photo opps taking credit for bills you voted against? Are you over in Europe advocating for the death penalty for gays on behalf of The Family? Are you making excuses for your voting record against women? Or…are you enjoying your soft life in your million dollar gated community home in Virginia far away from the potholes in our roads and the dying communities in your District?
Aderholt has stood by Trump’s criminal activity and supported him in spite of Trump’s 38 felonies. He has continued to be Trump’s allie in sexually abusing women and bragging about it. He has not said a word in defense of our Veterans the many times Trump has insulted their integrity. He has not walked away from the destruction Trump has inflicted upon our democracy. He has been beside the corruption and agreed with the insults and downplayed the tearing up of our Constitution.
Aderholt was there on January 6th when our Capitol was violently attacked. His wife, Caroline was handing out breakfast biscuits to the mob who were there to overthrow an election, hang our Vice President, and destroy our Capitol. He stood by Trump when a Capitol police officer lost his life defending the lives of the members of our Senate as the crazed violent attackers stormed the Capitol in rage.
District 4 is one of the poorest rural areas in the State of Alabama. He has not once stood up for Alabama in the overrun of poverty. For the past two plus decades, we the people have had NO representation to speak for us about the problems that have gone unaddressed by Aderhot. Too many of our rural schools do not have up to date text books or computers. Our teachers are among the lowest paid in the nation. We have potholes in our public roads that are 8 inches deep. People are working forty hours a week and can’t pay their bills and barely put food on their tables. Our Veterans are driving over 50 to 80 miles to a hospital. We have counties in our District who have not had a hospital in years.
Aderholt has voted against bills to benefit women since day one! He voted against the Violence Against Women Act, UNTIL there was a bill that said that it had to be a violation by an illegal alien! In other words, women can be raped by an American citizen and that’s okay. He also voted against The Fair Pay Act, The Lilly Ledbetter Act, Paycheck Fairness Act, Equality Act, and Employment Discrimination Act. He voted against women in our military having the same medical benefits as the male military. He voted against pregnant women incarcerated to have the medical care that is necessary to have a healthy pregnancy. He voted against the Right to Contraception Act! Please tell me why any Republican woman would vote for this?
We all have our own personal opinions about abortion. The Democratic Party does NOT advocate abortion. We support a woman’s RIGHT TO CHOOSE. I would like for Aderholt to answer this question…. Mr. Aderholt, if a doctor were to tell you that Caroline was pregnant and the fetus was in her tube and if she continued with the pregnancy that the tube would burst and she would bleed out before you could get her to a hospital, would you say “oh well, that’s too bad. I don’t believe in abortion no matter what the circumstance so I guess she will just have to die.” Oh by the way, this is providing there IS a hospital in your county. If you live in Lamar or Pickens County, you are SOL, Congressman. They do not have a hospital.
He hasn’t left out children in Alabama by any means. He voted against CHIP, aka/Children’s Health Insurance Protection Act SIX times! This program allows states to provide pregnancy-related assistance for targeted low-income pregnant women and is a joint federal and state program that provides low-cost health coverage to uninsured children in families that earn too much to qualify for Medicaid but cannot afford private insurance. That is pretty low when you vote against taking care of sick children.
In a bill that was passed just hours ago, Aderholt talked on the floor about how we had to be careful of over funding these programs that will keep four hospitals in his District open. This bill will fund Labor, Health, and Human Services and Education for the next fiscal year. It includes cuts to all three departments that allocate about $110.8 billion to HHS, which is a $4 billion cut from this year’s enacted level. Aderholt’s reasoning for the cuts is because we are almost $40 Trillion in national debt. Has Mr. Aderholt never thought if Donald Trump were not giving tax breaks to millionaires and corporations that Aderholt himself has supported that perhaps our national debt would improve? By the way, all those millions of dollars that the taxpayers have seen go to waste on demolishing the White House, tearing up the Rose Garden, having a UFC birthday bash, starting a war in Iran, and his expensive weekend golf trips might have saved some money on the national debt. This bill also cut $2 million from the Affordable Care Act, and cuts to the HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment funds. Remember, Aderholt does not like gay folks. The Democrats rebuked this bill saying that it cut out the health, education, nutrition and employment programs that support the working class, middle class and vulnerable Americans.
Isn’t it strange that we never see or hear anything from Robert Aderholt until it’s an election year and then here he comes with his photo opps. Does he go to Kennedy, Alabama? Does he show up in Vernon, or Sulligent? Has he ever been on a school tour in Brilliant or Bear Creek? Has he been to NTN to talk to over 200 workers who are losing their jobs? When has he ever met with our Veterans to hear their concerns? Has he ever stopped to think about the high cost of daycare to a single mother or voted to raise the minimum wage? Why has he not tried to pass a bill to end tax on groceries or increase Medicaid? Why is he not fighting to save Social Security and Medicare? He voted against the Senior Protection Act and stood with Trump to lower Medicaid funding for families who need it.
This has been a horror story since 1997, when Aderholt was elected by the gerrymandering redistricting that the Republicans always try to pull to get the monopoly on our government, which they have done. This is the only way they could get Aderholt elected and take Roger Bedford, Democrat, out of our District. Aderholt is re-elected by straight ticket voting by uninformed voters who do not follow his voting record. They would vote for a dead dog if it had an “R” by its name and not even know what they are voting for.
BUT….. we have an alternative. Her name is Amanda Pusczek. Part Two is coming.

The Girl With The Funny Name
Part II
I hope you all enjoyed Aderholt Part I of this series. This series is to introduce you to a girl in North Alabama with a funny name and purple hair! Amanda Pusczek, pronounced “push check” was an unknown until she decided to run for House of Representatives. She no longer has her purple hair but she has a fire burning in her that we have not seen in a candidate in a long time.
So, what makes this young nurse born in Ferguson, Missouri in 1990, want to jump into the ring of politics? Unlike Aderholt who was born into privilege, Amanda was the daughter of alcoholic parents who divorced when she was a small child. When Amanda was six years old, she and her Mother moved to Alabama. Her childhood was not an easy one but she will quickly tell you that it made her the strong, independent woman she is today. She always felt there was something that she needed to do to help others. She found that answer in psychiatric nursing and mental health advocacy.
In 2022, Amanda married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Trevor. Like all young couples, they began planning their lives together that included children. That dream was crushed when the Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade and Alabama passed the most severe reproduction healthcare in the nation. This made it almost impossible for Amanda and Trevor to safely start the family that they wanted. Amanda learned that she could not have a child because of her high risk status. The new law has closed the doors to medical options that would help Amanda and Trevor and thousands of couples like them to safely start a family.
During the Covid pandemic, Amanda knew that as a nurse she was needed. She did not hesitate to travel to the frontlines to help the sick and dying during this grueling time. This experience proved to her how important research, and science was in how we survived a healthcare crisis.
The bottom started falling out all over the nation. Trump was down playing the epidemic and making public announcements for people to “drink bleach” and it was “no big deal” while Amanda and thousands of healthcare providers like her were watching people suffer and die.
She saw millions of Americans lose their healthcare when the Republicans cut the Affordable Care Act that paid for their life saving meds. Families with children were the casualties of lost Medicaid and thousands of our elderly fell victim to cuts in Medicare. This also had a devastating effect on our Veterans when they lost their coverage for PTSD and other service related issues.
That November 2024, when Amanda went to vote was the deciding moment. Where are the Democrats? She stared at a ballot of uncontested seats, and the one that caught her eye was the thirty year incumbent running unchallenged for the House of Representatives, Robert Adetholt. There was a blank space where no one was speaking out for women. A hollow out hole where our Veterans were not being heard. A silence that was deafening for our working families, the gay community, and the forgotten elderly with no voice in Alabama. The fire started to burn and she knew that “someone” had to do something. “So, why not me?” she asked.
A nurse walked into that precinct to vote and an angry, determined, and fearless woman went home to tell her husband that she was going to run for public office. Not just any public office but ….she wanted Robert Aderholt’s job. He was failing the people in Alabama. He was not doing his job for the working class, the poor, the elderly, our Veterans, or our teachers. He had failed the people by voting against them to protect their Medicaid and Medicare. He had seen the hospitals closing and people losing their jobs and did nothing to speak out for them. He had supported bills that cost people their healthcare and took away women’s right to choose. He had turned his back on rural District 4, and we didn’t have a voice in Congress. No one was speaking for us. Instead of doing nothing, the girl with the funny name and the purple hair said “I will.”
Amanda is now on the ballot that once was left blank. She is there for the forgotten people in District 4, who have lost faith that anyone cares. All the Democrats who felt like they had no one to vote for because the seats were unchallenged now have a reason to get up in November and go to vote!
Amanda believes that this is a “now or never” moment to elect a representative who represents the people of the District and not the rich Americans who pay less taxes than our school teachers. She knows that it’s a “beak it or make it” time for career politicians to step down from their corporate PAC money, and broken promises.
How can we expect someone who has never had to work a day in his life or struggle to keep the lights on and food on the table to understand how devastating this economy is on the middle class? Trump said that he “didn’t think about the financial problems of the American people” and apparently neither do the Republicans in our Congress. We have a chance to change our future. We have a chance to have a voice in Congress. We have a chance to see a better future for Alabama schools, and better roads and stronger economy when we vote for someone who SEES it.
Amanda talks with passion for our Veterans and she wants to see them have the same gold star healthcare that our Congress has. She feels the pain of the working class who work 40 hours a week and still cannot send their kids to college or pay their mortgage. She drives on these pothole roads. She doesn’t live in a million dollar house in a gated community in another state. She and Trevor live a life like most of us. She shops in the same grocery stores and pushes a dime as far as she can.
Amamda is running for Congress for YOU. Her goal is to reclaim the power for YOU, the people. She believes in the fundamental freedoms of our Constitution, and she will stand up for it. She wants to build a future much different than the one we have had for the past two decades. A future where our fundamental freedoms are protected where it does not make a difference in the color of our skin or we choose to love. Alabama’s labor movement is a dying breed and our blue collar workers can barely make ends meet on a forty hour work week. Amanda has been at the kitchen table trying to make a paycheck stretch as far as she can. She is going to fight for the equal opportunity of every Alabamian to have a quality of life. She will fight for the equal justice of everyone to have the benefit of our judicial system. Amanda is committed to the women of Alabama to have equal pay, protection under the law against domestic violence and the right to speak for themselves on their healthcare. She is determined to bring a bill to the floor of Congress that will give our Veterans the healthcare they have earned. They have served us in times of war and turmoil and it’s time for Alabama to serve them with the same free lifetime gold star healthcare that Congress has given to themselves.
If we keep electing the same misery we have now, then we have only ourselves to blame. President Obama said in his speech this past week that “everyone has a story and they just need someone to listen.” Amanda with the funny name will listen. She will not only listen but she is dedicated to fulfilling her promise to the people. She holds no obligation to PAC money or special donations or any favors to organizations. Her only obligation is to the people of District 4, Alabama.
WE THE PEOPLE can make a change to have our voices heard. The teachers, truck drivers, single moms, struggling families, elderly citizens, Veterans, the poor and middle class, those dependent on Social Security, gay and transgender citizens, legal immigrants, and the mentally challenged will have a voice. Amanda will pull the gag off the voices of those who have gone unheard, unseen and uncared for.
You can go to her website amandaforalabama.com to show your support. Your best contribution will be to GO VOTE in November for the girl with the funny name!
