AL Trump resisters and the AL Republican primary elections

Should Alabama Trump resisters do "campaigning" in the May 19th Alabama Republican primary elections?
I think they should.
What do you think?
I would like to discuss the same with you.

Subject: Republican Attorney General primary debate held at The Club
Dear Republican Alabama Attorney General candidates Robertson, Mitchell and Casey:
I am developing a strategy of organized emailing as set out at Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: Strategy and tactics of organized emailing.
The first issue I am taking up for organized emailing is the rule of law.
You participated in a debate at The Club in Birmingham on March 19th, as reported at GOP Attorney General candidates face off at debate - Alabama Daily News.
I believe this debate can be utilized in starting organized emailing about the rule of law, and I will post this email on my link set forth above.
Alabama Policy Institute's Facebook post about the debate indicates that WBRC 6 News' Jonathan Harbison and 105.5 WERC's JT Nyse were on the debate panel, and they are copied on this email (JT via 105.5 WERC's online contact form), as well as the Alabama Daily News reporter Claire Harrison (via todd@aldailynews.com).
I hope organized emailing will impact the rule of law issue in Alabama.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Rob Shattuck

Dear Ms. Hosey:
This email is prompted by your Facebook post "celebrating our next Attorney General Katherine Robertson."
I am a retired Alabama lawyer who thinks that Donald Trump is destroying the rule of law in the United States and that the candidates for Alabama attorney general should express their views about this to help Alabama voters form their own views about the matter and about which candidates evidence satisfactory understanding of what the rule of law is about in the United States and in Alabama.
I am trying to get this to happen, including by means of the below email I sent to the candidates and others in connection with the debate at The Club on March 19th.
This email is intended to push this forward, and I am copying on this email the parties to whom I sent the below email.
Thank you for accommodating this communication to you.

Dear Alabama State Bar Executive Council and Alabama TV stations:
How despairing of our democracy are you made by the TV commercials of the candidates in this 2026 election cycle?
I was particularly triggered in the Alabama Attorney General election by Alabama AG candidates continue to fight over ‘woke lawyer lobbyist for a Muslim country’ ad - al.com.
How pathetic are we? Who or what can make a difference for the better in our democracy?
I try to do my bit, such as by importuning the Alabama State Bar to speak to Alabamians about what Trump is doing to the rule of law (Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: The condition of the Department of Justice and its FBI), and importuning Alabama TV stations to editorialize about what the truth is about January 6th (Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: Who will tell the Alabama people?).
You are in a better position to do better for our democracy.
But what will budge you?
My hope is that those copied on this email will help budge you.
Thank you.

Email re questions for candidates at June 8th Republican primary debate
From: Rob Shattuck <rdshatt@aol.com>

Sent: Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at 10:28:57 AM CDT
Subject: 1819 News hosting Republican primary runoff debate
Dear Ms. Thomas:
Between now and next Tuesday, I will push for the following questions to be asked of the candidates at the June 8th Republican primary debate that 1819 News is hosting per 1819 News hosting Republican primary runoff debate:
1. Should Alabama voters, in deciding whether to vote for you for the governmental leadership position and office you are seeking, consider relevant your views about anything concerning Donald Trump? What, if anything, do you wish to say to Alabama voters about Donald Trump?
2. What is your opinion of Donald Trump's honesty (or dishonesty) and truthfulness (or untruthfulness), compared to the honesty (or dishonesty) and truthfulness (or untruthfulness) of other politicians? How you think your opinion about Trump's honesty (or dishonesty) and truthfulness (or untruthfulness) will affect the opinion of Alabama voters about your own honesty and truthfulness.
3. Do you think Donald Trump foments anger, hate and division in the country? If so, do you approve of Donald Trump doing that? If you do not approve, will you say publicly you do not approve, and, if you are elected to the office you are seeking, will you do anything to try to reduce the anger, hate and division that Donald Trump foments.
4. Do you think Donald Trump has wrongfully weaponized the Department of Justice against his political opponents and against others who disagree with Trump? Do you see any risk of the Alabama Governor, Lt. Governor or Attorney General doing similarly with district attorneys and other law enforcement in Alabama?
5. Do you think Donald Trump has wrongfully used the Presidency to profit himself, his family and his friends? What assurances can you give Alabama voters that you will not wrongfully use the governmental office you are seeking to profit yourself, your family and your friends if you are elected?
6. Do you think Donald Trump can be trusted not to use his Anti-Fraud Task Force to target political opponents and other parties who support Trump's political opponents, and to be sparing with parties who are supportive of Trump? If you think that Trump cannot be so trusted with his Anti-Fraud Task Force, what will you do to try to change that if you are elected to the office you are seeking?
7. Do you think Trump has wrongfully abused his Presidential powers in how he has punished or threatened or otherwise economically coerced law firms, educational institutions, TV networks and other parties for the purpose of diminishing, silencing, or otherwise harming those parties, in order to advance Trump's personal and political interests?
8. Do you think Trump can be trusted not to use ICE wrongfully against Trump's political opponents, wrongfully to foment fear in the populace or wrongfully to interfere in the 2026 elections?
9. Do you think Trump is wrongfully corrupting the economy in how he awards commercial contracts and does other things related to the economy that favors corporations and other parties who support Trump personally and politically and that disfavors corporations and other parties who do not support Trump personally and politically?
I will do my pushing for the foregoing questions to be asked by contacting parties who have special interests in the foregoing questions and other parties who may lend force to getting such questions asked.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Rob Shattuck

Dear Alabama Broadcasters Association:
The below forwarded email says that between now and next Tuesday I will be pushing for certain questions to be asked of the candidates at the June 8th Republican primary debate that 1819 News is hosting per 1819 News hosting Republican primary runoff debate.
One of the questions is whether the candidate thinks that Donald Trump has wrongfully abused his Presidential powers in how he has punished or threatened or otherwise economically coerced law firms, educational institutions, TV networks and other parties for the purpose of diminishing, silencing, or otherwise harming those parties, in order to advance Trump's personal and political interests.
I think the Alabama Broadcasters Association, and its members, have a special interest in the foregoing question, and I am sending this email to you to solicit the Association to lend its force for getting the foregoing question asked of the candidates at the June 8th Republican primary debate.

The below forwarded email seeks to push questions to be asked of the candidates at the June 8th Republican primary debate being hosted by 1819 News and says I will do pushing by contacting parties who have special interests in the questions and other parties who may lend force to getting such questions asked.
It seems to me that, at a minimum, the Alabama State Bar could express its support for the rule of law and the role of the rule of law in the functioning of our democracy by Alabama State Bar President Helmsing (or other appropriate representative of the Alabama State Bar) sending me a reply email saying along the lines of, "The Alabama State Bar is very supportive of the rule of law. Your interest in whether the rule of law is being damaged by President Trump is a legitimate interest of the citizenry, and your seeking the candidates at the June 8th Republican primary debate to be asked and for them to answer questions about the same is laudable in the functioning of in our democracy."
I very much hope I will receive a reply.
Thank you.
