I have been getting replies regarding The Final Battle against Donald J. Trump: Will Trump's love of power do him in?. I will try to use the replies to make for public discussion here.

[The "Show more"continues as follows]His actions do not speak to a love of power, in my opinion. AS EVIDENCED BY: He was more wealthy and had more power before he came down the escalator. The only president to donate his salary back to pay for gov’t projects The only president to leave DC with less money than…

before! People forget, he does not have to do this. He doesn’t need this. He almost died trying to save this country and has been the target of the most vicious character assaults and lawfare for a freaking decade! I could go on and on!! Anybody else would have given up a long time ago. Since the 90s I have believed he could be the only person to make this run right. The country should be run like a business, because it is. We The People are the investors and the president should be the CEO! I truly believe he’s been called to do this. God saved him in Butler and I believe he is uniting the nation so we can once again be one nation under God.
[The "Show more" continues as follows]I have another point to make before I answer. If President Trump, in your words, has a love for power, I believe he would have run for President as a Democrat, because he used to be one. Then he would not have suffered through THE MOST vicious attacks and lies to his character…

and on his life. It is astonishing to see the number of people who used to love him that have viciously attacked him because he ran as a Republican…and I am sure he knew this would happen. The decision to do that does not represent someone trying to amass power, in my opinion. It is because he OPPOSES the corruption of our government and the POWER it wields AGAINST The People and Their interests that he is doing this, I believe. He demonstrated this in his first term simply by ‘Promises Made, Promises Kept’ despite the entrenched deep state trying to stop him at every turn. In his inauguration speech he said his presidency does not represent the transfer of power from one party to another, but the transfer of power back to The People! He woke the country up with that statement and opened himself up to the attacks from those who truly covet power above everything… In my opinion.

Dear Rob:
Yes... I think you are overreacting. First because we have several counter-powers in this nation; second because the midterm elections are going to be tough for the Republicans: because of the actions of Trump coupled with the actions of the Democrats (they will have learned from their mistakes by then) they are going to lose both the senate and the house; Third, because this country is incredibly rich and powerful. It took several centuries to bring down Rome, and America is much more powerful than Rome was.
Cordially,
