Dear Senators Tuberville and Britt:
Central to the Matt Gaetz nomination is the matter of the rule of law and weaponization of the justice system.
I assume your position is that Merrick Garland and the Democrats have weaponized the justice system during the past four years, and Matt Gaetz would be a good antidote as Attorney General to carry out a de-weaponization of the justice system.
I am and have been on the opposite side of your position. This can be gleaned from my blog entries such as Be An Alabama Rootstriker* with Rob Shattuck: Supercharging the "rule of law" debate in Alabama and Be An Alabama Rootstriker* with Rob Shattuck: Did Donald Trump engage in insurrection on Jan. 6th?
As part of my efforts, for more than a year I have tried to get the Alabama State Bar and Alabama lawyers to undertake an evaluation of the political issue of weaponization of the justice system and to inform Alabamians about such evaluation for whatever consideration Alabamians choose to give to such evaluation. The Alabama State Bar and the Alabama lawyers I contacted were unresponsive to me. Be An Alabama Rootstriker* with Rob Shattuck: Interim Alabama report to ABA Task Force for American Democracy and The Final Battle against Donald J. Trump: Alabama's support for the rule of law.
[To be continued. I am soliciting suggestions for what this open letter should say, per The Final Battle against Donald J. Trump: Soliciting suggestions re Tuberville/Britt/Gaetz letter]
