Subject: Will Trump's love of power do him in
Dear history professors and others I've previously emailed,
One does not need to be an historian to know that history is replete with instruction about human beings' love of power and what human beings will do for their power.
I have tried to write up the subject of Trump's love of power at The Final Battle against Donald J. Trump: What Trump will be and do as POTUS.
I am concerned that Americans are not sufficiently apprised about Trump's love of power and things that Trump is at risk of doing to increase his power and amass more power in himself than any American in history has ever had, and what concerns should surround this.
If any addressee on this email would like to help me regarding this matter, that will be most appreciated.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Rob Shattuck

Re: Trump's hate Trump's 'hate' comment at Kirk’s funeral is bad news for US | Opinion
Last November I posted a blog entry entitled "Will Trump's love of power do him in?", and I emailed a number of parties about the same. Last November's blog entry, which includes my emails, is at Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: Will Trump's love of power do him in?.
Now I am asking the question "Does Trump's love of power fuel his hate?", and I am proceeding to email the parties whom I emailed last November to ask them this second question "Does Trump's love of power fuel his hate?". I am adding such current emails to Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: Will Trump's love of power do him in?.
Maybe some of you and those in your groups would be interested in doing your own emailing about "Does Trump's love of power fuel his hate?". If so, and I can help out, please let me know.
Thanks for anything you do.

Subject: Bill O'Reilly-- evil, amoral power, Putin and Trump
Dear David Lamb:
In your interview yesterday morning that is posted at Bill O'Reilly on his new book: 'Confronting Evil' | Watch, you asked Bill O'Reilly to define evil, and he replied evil "is when you hurt another human being on purpose, feel no remorse, and enjoy it."
O'Reilly particularly applied his "evil" definition to Putin, saying "he [Putin] likes killing women and children in Ukraine."
I think O'Reilly fails to consider the nature of the human desire for power and the emotional centrality of having and increasing power independently of how the power is exercised.
In this theory, power is amoral and not inherently evil. Power's psychological gratifications can come from either good or bad uses and sometimes neither. Adulation and/or fear of the powerholder are the prime psychological treasures for the power holder.
In this theory, Putin values above all else his power, and there is nothing Putin will not do to maintain that power. In particular, there is no limit on the number of Russian soldiers Putin will send to their deaths in Ukraine, and there is no limit on the number of women and children Putin will cause to be killed in Ukraine if, in Putin's calculation, such aids Putin in keeping his power.
In this theory, I don't think Putin "likes killing women and children in Ukraine" but rather Putin is morally indifferent to the killing and the killing is simply something that is needed for Putin to keep his power.
In the interview, O'Reilly recounts his having the opportunity to give his book to Trump and to possibly educate Trump that Putin is different now from the Putin that Trump dealt with in Trump's first term.
Since I believe Putin is better understood as an amoral power seeker than as an intentional evil doer, I think your viewers were not well served by your interview of O'Reilly given that I think Trump and Putin are two peas in a pod in their amoral love and quest for power.
Sincerely,
Rob Shattuck
