Subject: Indivisible Birmingham's town hall today
I took the liberty of putting Rick Lovelady's Facebook post about the town hall, plus my comment on his post, on my blog at The Final Battle against Donald J. Trump: The January 6th lawbreaker President, day 61.
I said to Rick, if that was not ok with him, to please let me know.
Also, I said to Rick I would be pleased to add to the foregoing link anything else about the town hall that anyone else would like to see added to the link, and that I just needed to be informed about things desired to be added.

Hey, Alabama TV stations:
Citizens around the country are screaming for their members of Congress to show up and answer questions.
Can or cannot Alabama TV stations do anything to make that happen for Alabamians with respect to their members of Congress?
Will Trump attack Alabama TV stations if they force answers from Alabama's members of Congress about what Trump is doing to the country?
Thanks.

Thank you very much. Brendan, for the link to Congressman Figures' town hall.
May such town hall inspire much, much more communication between Alabamians and their members of Congress, and for Alabama TV stations to have a role in facilitating the same.
Sincerely,

Congratulations and thank you to Limestone County Democrats and others for such a great turnout of up to 300 people. Several speakers expressed their concerns and criticisms on various issues and the impacts of DOGE, Executive orders, Tariffs, Tax Cuts/Plans, and other issues. Many of them were emotional and angry.
After coming back from India trip on Friday night I attended the town hall meeting on Saturday at 6 pm at El Opry event center in Athens, Limestone County, Alabama. It was a great event.
MAGA Congressman Dale Strong from Congressional District 5 did not care about his constituents by not showing up for the meeting. So, the organizers had no choice, but to conduct the town hall with an empty chair. #Resist

This past weekend CBS42 interviewed John Merrill about the 2026 elections. Fox10 News has done reporting about Congressman Shomari Figures Townhall well-attended with constituents voicing concerns.
That's all I know or have been told.
Without more information, I would say that Alabama TV stations have a long way to go in establishing journalistic respectability in getting Alabama's members of Congress to answer pressing questions that their Alabama constituents have for such members of Congress.
Thank you.
