Dear Ms. Robertson:
This follow up email is prompted by the recent 1819 News article AG chief counsel Katherine Robertson warns against states relying on federal funding— 'They can tell you to do whatever they want, rarely what you want'.
I hope you, as a possible Alabama attorney general candidate who is warning states about relying on federal funding because 'They can tell you to do whatever they want, rarely what you want', will give due consideration to our country's situation with Donald Trump.
In December I sent an open letter to Senator Britt about the subject of Trump and power, which open letter can be found at Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: Second letter to Katie Britt re Trump and power.
Almost daily, Donald Trump is seizing for himself ever more Presidential and Federal power. There is no check coming from Congress. The courts are starting to check Trump and Trump is now on a campaign to beat down courts and judges who are blocking his quest for ever more power.
Trump is using and instilling fear in many quarters to advance his quest for power.
Trump is successfully cowing law firms in his quest for power.
Perhaps you too are or will be cowed.
Time will tell about all of this.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Rob Shattuck

AG chief counsel Katherine Robertson warns against states relying on federal funding— 'They can tell you to do whatever they want, rarely what you want'

My email to Ms. Robertson refers to Trump using and instilling fear in many quarters to advance his quest for power and to Trump's successfully shaking down law firms in Trump's quest for power.
I have sent to upwards of 80 Alabama lawyers the email I sent to Ms. Robertson.
Only time will tell how much Trump will be able to cow the United States legal profession and keep it from being an obstacle to his amassing Presidential and Federal power in himself.
I am a retired lawyer and am doing what I can against Trump.
I hope time will reveal that large numbers of American lawyers will not be cowed by Trump and will act to oppose what Trump is doing.
Thank you for your indulgence in receiving this email.

Dear Republican Alabama Attorney General candidates Robertson, Mitchell and Casey:
I am developing a strategy of organized emailing as set out at Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: Strategy and tactics of organized emailing.
The first issue I am taking up for organized emailing is the rule of law.
You participated in a debate at The Club in Birmingham on March 19th, as reported at GOP Attorney General candidates face off at debate - Alabama Daily News.
I believe this debate can be utilized in starting organized emailing about the rule of law, and I will post this email on my link set forth above.
Alabama Policy Institute's Facebook post about the debate indicates that WBRC 6 News' Jonathan Harbison and 105.5 WERC's JT Nyse were on the debate panel, and they are copied on this email (JT via 105.5 WERC's online contact form), as well as the Alabama Daily News reporter Claire Harrison (via todd@aldailynews.com).
I hope organized emailing will impact the rule of law issue in Alabama.
Thank you.

Dear Alabama Attorney General GOP candidates and Alabama Broadcasters Association:
Please take a look at the below email interchange that asks for the GOP Attorney General candidates to give their views about the effect Trump is having on the Department of Justice and the rule of law.
Please particularly note my pointed question to the candidates that, if Coach Tuberville is elected governor and he instructed you as the Alabama Attorney General to go after Coach Tuberville's political enemies, whether you would obey such instruction the way Pam Bondi and Todd Blanche seem to have acted on behalf of Donald Trump to go after Trump's political enemies.
Another pointed question for the candidates would be, if Coach Tuberville is elected governor and he uses his office to enrich himself as Trump has used the Presidency to enrich himself, would they, as Alabama Attorney General, endeavor to bring to bear the rule of law in Alabama to hold Coach Tuberville liable for such enrichment of himself.
As indicated in the below email interchange, I am trying to use organized emailing in order to get the foregoing questions posed to the GOP Attorney General candidates and answered by them.
The Alabama Broadcasters Association is an addressee on this email as part of such organized emailing and to achieve the objective of getting questions answered by the candidates.
Thank you very much.
Sincerely.

Many of the AG candidates have made clear where they stand and it is not with the people they are running to represent. The Alabama Bar should do a better job of holding it's members accountable to Constitutional law. No one has faith in our current judicial system on either side. It starts with holding people accountable which the Bar seems unwilling to do and even at times elevates those who have shown unethical behavior. Complaints need to be filed, actually be investigated, and then accounted for. Jay Mitchell and many others are not qualified to be in positions of representation. The bar should be the first organization to recognize these flaws and take action.

Dear Laurie Beth,
This email is prompted by your comment on Beth Shelburne's Facebook post about GOP Attorney General candidate Jay Mitchell, which comment of yours said, "He is an abomination."
I am trying to use the GOP Alabama Attorney General primary election to battle against the destruction I believe Trump is doing to the rule of law in the United States and in particular trying to get the GOP AG candidates to give their views about the effect Trump is having on the Department of Justice and the rule of law.
A pointed question to the candidates might be, if Coach Tuberville is elected governor and he instructed you as the Alabama Attorney General to go after Coach Tuberville's political enemies, would you obey such instruction the way the Pam Bondi and Todd Blanche seem to have acted on behalf of Donald Trump to go after Trump's political enemies.
I am using emailing to try to get answers to questions such as the foregoing.
Earlier in April I sent an email to the GOP AG candidates in connection with a debate that was held at The Club on March 19th. My email is posted at Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: The January 6th lawbreaker President, day 68.
You know of the difficulties in getting one's emails read and responded to, and that I am trying to get more than just me to do emailing in order to break through, including more emailing in the form of "reply to all" emails.
On this email, I am first copying the Alabama State Bar Executive Council because of my ongoing efforts to get them to speak to Alabamians about the rule of law, such as set out at Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: The condition of the Department of Justice and its FBI.
Next, I am copying persons who have indicated they are interested in sending and/or receiving emails in organized emailing that is done.
Finally, I am copying Beth Shelburne on the chance that she would take an interest in helping with organized emailing.
Please avail of this email however you see fit.
Thanks very much.
Sincerely,
Rob
