”My 2cents: this is the result of unrestrained populism, with its doctrine that learning, intelligence and experience can be replaced by done sort of “alternative meritocracy” valuing thing that feel good and suppoet prejudices, myths, conspiracy theories and the idea, as Isaac Asimov said "There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there always has been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge'".
Charlie Kirk was 31 years old, with an undistinguished education record and no meaningful practical experience in medicine, psychology, or theology. He told people what they wanted to hear, appealing to their worst instincts and without concern for the consequences.
I am truly sorry a sick, confused young man killed Charlie Kirk, but to lionize him as a martyr is to ignore that he preached the very sort of bigotry and hatred America spent generations trying to eradicate.

I think the Rule of Law should be prominent in the Alabama 2026 general elections.
I have contacted the Alabama State Bar, the Alabama District Attorneys Association, the Business Council of Alabama, the Alabama Ethics Commission, and Alabama Supreme Court candidates AshLeigh Dunham and Brad Mendheim about this, asking those parties to submit statements for posting at Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: Rule of Law in Alabama 2026 general elections for public consumption by Alabama voters.
The purpose of this email to you is to try to leverage possible interest of WSFA12 in this matter for obtaining the requested statements.

I think triggering me to contact you regarding the Rule of Law is the report this morning that Vance says Watergate would be a '12-hour news story' today | AP News.
I expect to contact relevant professors at the University of Alabama to solicit their evaluations of what sitting Vice President Vance said about Watergate, and maybe get WVUA 23 News interested in reporting on the same.
