Charlie Kirk was 31 years old, with an undistinguished education record and no meaningful practical experience in medicine, psychology, or theology. He told people what they wanted to hear, appealing to their worst instincts and without concern for the consequences.
I am truly sorry a sick, confused young man killed Charlie Kirk, but to lionize him as a martyr is to ignore that he preached the very sort of bigotry and hatred America spent generations trying to eradicate.
To whom should the foregoing information about Charlie Kirk be emailed in order to tell the Alabama people about Charlie Kirk?
Thank you for such emailing suggestions that you make.

It seems to me that Trump urging UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer to intervene in Trump's dispute with BBC (Keir Starmer urged to intervene in Trump-BBC row | The Independent) partakes of the mixing of Trump's personal interests with America's national geopolitical interests for which Trump was impeached in 2019 regarding Ukraine and Zelenskyy.
I hope you will decently perform your journalistic obligations owed to your audiences and inform them fairly and honestly about this matter.
Thank you.

Dear Alabama State Bar President Helmsing:
On Saturday I sent the below email to Alabama TV stations, other political reporters and journalism academics, in which I suggest that Trump urging UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer to intervene in Trump's dispute with the BBC partakes of the mixing of Trump's personal interests with America's national geopolitical interests for which Trump was impeached in 2019 regarding Ukraine and Zelenskyy.
I hope the Alabama State Bar will consider, and possibly speak up about, the impact on free speech of Trump's threatened multibillion dollar lawsuit against the BBC.
Thank you.

I have contacted the Alabama State Bar, the Alabama District Attorneys Association, the Business Council of Alabama, the Alabama Ethics Commission, and Alabama Supreme Court candidates AshLeigh Dunham and Brad Mendheim about this, asking those parties to submit statements for posting at Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: Rule of Law in Alabama 2026 general elections for public consumption by Alabama voters.
The purpose of this email to you is to try to leverage possible interest of WSFA12 in this matter for obtaining the requested statements.
Thank you.

For more information, see Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: Rule of Law in Alabama 2026 general elections.
I think triggering me to contact you regarding the Rule of Law is the report this morning that Vance says Watergate would be a '12-hour news story' today | AP News.
I expect to contact relevant professors at the University of Alabama to solicit their evaluations of what sitting Vice President Vance said about Watergate, and maybe get WVUA 23 News interested in reporting on the same.
Thank you for your indulgence here.

Subject: JD Vance claims Watergate scandal would be a nothingburger today, compares Nixon to Donald Trump - al.com
Dear Howard,
Thank you for your article JD Vance claims Watergate scandal would be a nothingburger today, compares Nixon to Donald Trump - al.com.
I am trying to elevate the Rule of Law in the Alabama 2026 general elections as set out at Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: Rule of Law in Alabama 2026 general elections, and I will add you to that effort by posting this email there.
I hope you and others in the Alabama political media will appropriately inform Alabamians about the Rule of Law issue in connection with the Alabama 2026 general elections, and that other Alabama "institutions" such as the Alabama State Bar, the Business Council of Alabama, and the University of Alabama practice their civics by speaking out to Alabamians regarding the same.
Again, thank you.
Sincerely,
Rob Shattuck
Mountain Brook
(for filing in Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: Who will tell the Alabama people? and in Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: Rule of Law in Alabama 2026 general elections)
