Subject: Please consider lawyer Barry Marks' demand the UA withdraw Trump invitation
To Alabama State Bar Bench & Bar Relations Committee:
Please consider the below demand that Alabama lawyer Barry Marks made on his
Facebook (and seems to have emailed to President@ua.edu) that the University of Alabama withdraw its invitation to Trump to speak at commencement.
Thank you.

President@ua.edu
At a time when the Trump administration is attempting to dictate policy and priorities at universities, stifle dissent, and lay the groundwork for replacement of our cherished democracy with an autocracy reminiscent of Nazi Germany, I am shocked that the University of Alabama has invited Trump to speak at its commencement ceremony.
As a member if the Alabama State Bar Association, I consider it my duty to speak out against your participation in Trump's attack on our federal Constitution.
I intend to join my fellow citizens in protest on campus on May 1. I hope we will expose you and the University as tools of a repressive regime that has no place in an institution of higher learning.
I demand that you withdraw the invitation immediately and, if not, provide ample security for what will be a well-attended and well-publicized protest.
