Subject: Fw: Will Trump's love of power do him in
Dear University of Alabama President Bell:
Last November, after Trump won the election, I wrote the below email to Alabama professors of history (including UA history department chair Prof. Rothman) and to others, in which email I say: "I am concerned that Americans are not sufficiently apprised about Trump's love of power and things that Trump is at risk of doing to increase his power and amass more power in himself than any American in history has ever had, and what concerns should surround this."
Taing into account Trump's first 100 days, I am especially prompted to send this email to you in connection with Trump's coming to the University of Alabama this Thursday to deliver a commencement address.
I hope there has been and there will continue during this week much free and open discussion on the University of Alabama campus about what is happening to the country under Trump.
Thank you very much for your reading this email.
Sincerely,
Rob Shattuck

Subject: Will Trump's love of power do him in
Dear history professors and others I've previously emailed
One does not need to be an historian to know that history is replete with instruction about human beings' love of power and what human beings will do for their power.
I have tried to write up the subject of Trump's love of power at The Final Battle against Donald J. Trump: What Trump will be and do as POTUS.
I am concerned that Americans are not sufficiently apprised about Trump's love of power and things that Trump is at risk of doing to increase his power and amass more power in himself than any American in history has ever had, and what concerns should surround this.
If any addressee on this email would like to help me regarding this matter, that will be most appreciated.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Rob Shattuck

Subject: Could Joyce Vance speak at Trump protest tomorrow?
To Alabama State Bar Bench & Bar Relations Committee:
Yesterday I sent an email to University of Alabama President Bell, which discussed my concern that Americans are not sufficiently apprised about Trump's love of power and things that Trump is doing to increase his power and amass more power in himself than any American in history has ever had, and what concerns should surround this. My email is posted at Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: The January 6th lawbreaker President, day 99.
Nick Saban and President Bell will speak with Trump at the University of Alabama commencement event tomorrow. https://tuscaloosathread.com/nick-saban-stuart-bell-to-join-trump-in-speaking-to-seniors-thursday/
Beto O'Rourke will speak at 5 pm tomorrow at a “Tide Against Trump” protest at Snow Hinton Park off McFarland Boulevard in Tuscaloosa. https://www.al.com/politics/2025/04/prominent-texas-democrat-speaking-at-protest-before-trumps-alabama-speech.html..
Could Joyce Vance speak at the Trump protest tomorrow if she wanted to?
Or would Joyce Vance feel she is not at liberty to speak at the Trump protest?

To other states' lawyers:
I used Sunday night's 60 Minutes segment Trump presidential orders target law firms. Here's how some lawyers say that threatens the rule of law. - CBS News to email to my two Alabama lawyer lists the 60 Minutes segment and having as the email subject line "Another 60 Minutes; another chance for Alabama lawyers to cower, or not."
My emails can be found at Citizens Acting to End the Trump Presidency: The January 6th lawbreaker President, day 99.
I hope many lawyers in your states are not cowering in the face of Trump's relentless amassing of unchecked power in himself to rule over America.
Thank you.
