I continue to urge Indivisible Birmingham to take up organized emailing as a way to push its messaging beyond the limited audience that Facebook and Bluesky provide to Indivisible Birmingham.

On Facebook, I am making comments on people's posts along the lines of this:
"I am trying to persuade people to do organized emailing in order to achieve more widespread and effective dissemination of anti-Trump messaging, such as the content of your Facebook post. https://trumptweet.blogspot.com/2025/03/the-january-6th-lawbreaker-president_16.html"
One Facebook poster commented back to me as follows:
I replied to this Facebook poster as follows:"[W]e're seeing a purge, not only of government officials who are critical of Trump, but also people in the private sector, and now with the mass deportations that include innocent legal citizens, people are very afraid to speak out, even on Facebook. I think our only hope is for our Democratic representatives in Congress to fight for us and find a way to stop this outrage. Musk needs to go and Trump needs to be curbed. Emailing Republicans in Congress is a waste of time because they are firmly behind Trump through ignorance and fear, so that fear of their constituency or fear of not being reelected is of little or no importance. We have two Hitlers here who, with a wave of their arms and a nod of their heads, can make people disappear. I'm hearing from people through Facebook who want to know if speaking out here is safe. I have no answer."
"I have a broad range of parties I am emailing, including lawyers, chambers of commerce, TV stations, academics, and medical professionals. Do you think that emailing is a waste of time?"
While I have gotten numerous likes on Facebook comments I have about organized emailing, I have not gotten anyone else to do emailing with me.
I am keen on organized emailing because I think Facebook posting generally reaches a small group of like-minded people and emailing can be put out to people whose views may not be well formed or be different, but whose views may be open to change.
Emailing takes extra work of getting email addresses to email to.
My extensive emailing can be reviewed by people to decide whether they think it is worthwhile and worth the effort.
I will continue my urging for organized emailing.

I agree that our trying to interact directly with the Alabama Congressional delegation is pretty futile, and I have been pushing hard for Alabama Trump resisters to proceed by indirection of contacting Alabama parties who have more standing and influence and to whom Alabama members of Congress may pay attention.
While I advocate for that indirection, Alabama Trump resistance groups are not yet buying into that and seem to limit themselves to urging supporters and members to contact directly Alabama members of Congress by telephone calls and emails.

I did not make your Committee on Foreign Relations presentation last Monday, but I have a great deal of interest in Trump being pressed to continue United States support for Ukraine and pressing Alabama Republican members of Congress to speak publicly in support of continued U.S. support for Ukraine.
